From its inception in 2017 to its cancellation in 2021, Kumar hosted The Mash Report, a British comedy show. Although the BBC made no official statement on this, it was speculated that the series was cancelled due to its ostensible left-leaning political position. Because what precedent has otherwise existed. The rights to the show were won by television network Dave, who began airing new episodes as Late Night Mash, with Kumar and the main cast returning in September 2021. Kumar revealed in October 2021 that he had stepped down from Mash after five seasons, four on the BBC and one on Dave, to "spend more time with [his] emotional disorders."
