Edward Stephenson Gamble (born 11 March 1986 in Hammersmith, London) is a comedian best known for co-presenting The Peacock and Gamble Podcast and his regular appearances on Mock the Week.
He studied at Durham University, where he began his comedy career with the Durham Revue, and was a finalist in the 2007 Chortle Student Comedy Awards.
Early life
In southwest London, Gamble was first introduced. He was educated at King's College School, a private day school for boys in Wimbledon, followed by Durham University, where he studied philosophy, and met fellow comedians Nish Kumar and Tom Neenan. He was a student at Hatfield College.
Personal life
Gamble has type 1 diabetes, which he has treated as part of his appearances. Charlie Jamison, the husband of television producer Charlie Jamison, with whom he has been in a relationship since 2011. They were married on September 9, 2021, after postponing three times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Career
Gamble's beginnings were with Ray Peacock, with whom he produced two separate series of podcasts, totaling more than 100 episodes. In late 2010, he appeared on television, doing a 15-minute set on Russell Howard's Good News on BBC Three. In 2011, Greg Davies was with Peacock at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, as well as assisting Greg Davies on his run-away 'Firing Cheeseballs' at a Dog's Tour in 2011. Gamble also appeared on FUBAR Radio with Peacock.
Gamble debuted solo at Edinburgh Fringe in 2014, with the show "Gambletron 5000," returning in 2015 with "Lawman" and "Stampede" in 2016. His stand-up performances include a great deal of observational comedy, many directed at himself, including discussions of his diabetes, which he suffered with as a child; he chose "Blizzard" and his Amazon special "Blood Sugar" as the central topic of his 2018 Edinburgh Fringe show "Blizzard" and his Amazon special, "Blood Sugar."
Gamble has been a regular panelist on BBC Radio Mock the Week since July 2015, and she has also appeared in Almost Royal, a comedy show on BBC America in the same year. Georgie and Poppy Carlton, brother and sister, were a match. The show was broadcast on E4 in the United Kingdom and was followed by a second series in 2016.
