Nicholas Perri (born May 15, 1984) is an American guitarist, singer/songwriter, and producer.

He is a founding member of Silvertide, Mount Holly, SINAI, and most recently, The Underground Thieves.

Nick has also played for Shinedown, Perry Farrell, Matt Sorum, sister Christina Perri, Jimmy Gnecco, Dorothy, and others.

In 2009, Perri launched a custom guitar brand called "Perri Ink." On October 3, 2011, he opened the doors to the Perri Ink.

The store was closed on November 1, 2013, so Nick could continue to focus on music.

Nick is currently writing, recording, and touring with his band The Underground Thieves.Nick is a platinum selling songwriter, and in 2016, produced a Transformers compilation album for Hasbro and Sony.

In addition, Nick has placed music in movies, TV shows, and commercials; including advertisements for the NHL, the WB Network, Theraflu, Squarespace, and others.

He also appeared and performed in the M. Night Shyamalan film Lady in the Water, and provided two songs to the film's soundtrack.

Personal life

Perri is the son, and older child of Mary and Dante Perri. He grew up in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, a Philadelphia suburb with his parents and younger sister, singer-songwriter Christina Perri. He attended Father Judge High School and Bensalem High School and was involved in the theater department. In his junior year, he had the starring role in The King and I. He married Misi Bauman in 2011, and their daughter, Tesla, was born in 2014.

Career

Perri co-founded Silvertide, a Philadelphia-based blues-rock group. In 2002, they issued their first EP American Excess. Show and Tell, their first full album, was released in 2004. Silvertide performed uninterrupted until 2006, with bands including Van Halen, Velvet Revolver, and Mötley Crüe on their debut album.

Perri returned to Los Angeles in 2007 to play lead guitarist Perry Farrell after disbanding of Silvertide. After touring and playing with Farrell and Satellite Party for a year, he left the group and took on a lead guitarist with the Shinedown band. He was with them from 2008 to 2009 touring in favor of The Sound of Madness.

Perri began with drummer Matt Sorum in 2009. Perri and Sorum were active in Los Angeles and Las Vegas throughout the year with a group named The Darling Stilettos.

Perri returned to Philadelphia in 2010 and formed Sinai, a new rock band led by former Silvertide frontman Walt Lafty. They spent more than a year producing and recording music, and in February 2012, they announced the release of a full-length album. On April 1, 2012, the album, titled "A Pinch of Chaos," was released.

Perri returned to the stage in 2014 with The Nick Perri Group for a string of East and West coast shows with friend Jimmy Gnecco. The Nick Perri Group had changed its name to Mount Holly on March 3, 2015.

On November 2, 2017, Mount Holly singer Jameson Burt revealed that he was leaving the band after two and a half years together. In Jameson's absence, the remaining members announced that the band would come to an end. Mount Holly's full-length album "Stride By Stride" debuted on November 3rd, 2017 and debuted at #40 on the iTunes Alternative Music charts, gaining #12 on the charts.

Perri was touring with female rock artist Dorothy beginning in the summer of 2018 (through winter 2019), filling in for guitarist Owen Barry, who recently had a baby.

Perri became one of Gibson Guitars' new stars in 2019, when they debuted their 60th Anniversary of 1959 Gibson Les Paul.

Nick formed The Underground Thieves, the band's first single "Graveyard Moon" on January 4, 2018. In 2020, the band renamed Nick Perri & The Underground Thieves, and the band's debut LP, Sun Via, was announced.

Perri, singer and guitarist, guitarist and drummer Brian Weaver, keyboardist/songwriter Justin DiFebbo, and drummer Zil Fessler, all of whom hail from Philadelphia, were among the group's members.

Sun Via was announced on August 14th, 2020, and it debuted at #6 on the iTunes rock albums charts.

The band's first single "Feeling Well" debuted on the US rock radio charts at number 45 and has received acclaim from industry contemporaries. With The Struts and Blackberry Smoke, the band spent the remainder of 2020 playing a series of Live Streaming concerts, as well as outdoor concerts. They re-joined Blackberry Smoke in 2021 for a series of shows in Florida, and revealed that they would be touring through the summer both as a headliner and co-headliner with Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen.

The band announced a collaboration with Gibson and Sweetwater Sound on May 20th, 2021, as well as a accompanying music video for "I Want You."

Nick announced his first solo tour in 2021, with the help of former Silvertide band member Walt Lafty.

The band performed their second album in January of 2022 as a 4-piece (excluding the Montesano Bros). The recordings have resulted in a double album, according to Nick, who shared it on instagram, and that it is likely to be released in 2023.

The band on July 13th, 2022, unveiled a cover of Neil Young's My My Hey Hey Hey.
