Adam Jones Life

Adam Thomas Jones (born January 15, 1965) is a three-time Grammy Award-winning American singer and visual artist best known as the guitarist for Tool.

Jones has been named as the 75th Greatest Guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone and ninth in Guitar World's Top 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists.

Jones, who has expertise in special effects and set design, is also the producer of the majority of Tool's music videos.

Early years and personal life

Jones was born in Park Ridge, Illinois, and raised in Libertyville, Illinois. He was accepted into the Suzuki program and continued to play violin throughout his freshman year in high school. He was an interest in animation as a youth, transforming his ideas into three-dimensional sculptures, which explains why Tool's music videos often had 3D-clay effects. He later began to play double bass in an orchestra.

Jones performed classical music in addition to playing bass guitar in the band Electric Sheep, with Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine playing guitar before Jones moved to California (Morello quickly followed). According to both of them, the band was very unpopular at the time. Jones never received formal guitar lessons, but Morello and Jones learned from each other.

Jones married painter Korin Faught on July 6, 2013. They have two sons.

Jones was given a film scholarship but she turned down and moved to Los Angeles to study art and sculpture. His obsession with film shifted to film, where he began to work as a sculptor and special effects designer, where he would later use the stop motion camera techniques he would use in Tool's music videos, including "Sober," "Prison Sex," "About," "Stinkfist," "Schism," "Parabola," and "Vicarious" and "Vicarious" was included in the text. He graduated in 1987.

After graduating, he joined Rick Lazzarini's Character Shop. He appeared on the television show Monsters for two years. Among others, he created and fabricated a Grim Reaper makeup and a zombie head on a spike (later used in Ghostbusters II). Stan Winston's special effects workshop, where he spent time on Predator 2 in sculpting a unique-looking skull for the Predator's spaceship interior.

Jones appeared on several other films in Hollywood, including Jurassic Park, Batman Returns, Dances with Wolves, and Ghostbusters II. "Freddy Krueger in the womb" makeup for A Nightmare: The Dream Child, as well as work on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master.

He has also worked on commercials for salad dressing (never broadcast), Olympic Paints & Stains (Albert Einstein's makeup), and Duracell (boxers and taxicabs).

Jones appeared on Jello Biafra/The Melvins band's Never Breathe What You Can't See and Sieg Howdy! Buzz Osborne, a drummer for Melvins, is a close friend. Jones appeared on Melvin's album Hostile Ambient Takeover, the Melvins/Lustmord collaboration Pigs of the Roman Empire, and the Isis album Wavering Radiant.

On Mr. Show, he appeared as Puscifer's fictional guitarist alongside bandmate Keenan, and he can also be seen in the audience at a table with Keenan in the series's first episode.

Jones performed the national anthem of the United States at the outset of WWE's SummerSlam (2011) wrestling tournament in Los Angeles on August 14, 2011.

Adam Jones is known for not primarily using any particular guitar playing style but rather combining several methods such as "alternately using power chords, scratchy movement, chiming arpeggios, off-beat rhythm patterns, and a quiet minimalism" rather than simply using guitar chords. Fear Inoculum, Jones dropped D tuning almost exclusively on the 2019 version. In songs like "Parabola" and "Prison Sex," he has used other tunings outside of drop D. Jones' song "7empest" uses a 7/8 time signature throughout the song's intro. On Lateralus and 10,000 Days, he made heavy use of triplets. Some of the techniques used to expand his band's sound repertoire include experiments with instrumental experimentation and applications of non-instrumental experimentation, for example, Jones' use of an epilator as a plectrum on the nima and Lateralus albums; in this vein, "Jambi" Jones uses a talk box. In the song "Third Eye," he makes use of a pick slide for the opening. Jones, live, has a large pedalboard of effects, including a DOD FX-40B Equalizer (EQ) pedal, Boss BF-2 Flanger, Boss DD-3 Digital Delay, a Dunlop BB535 Cry Baby Wah, and a MXR Micro Amp. He referred to Helmet as a source of authority in a 1994 interview. Jones is most often seen sporting his coveted 1979 Custom Silverburst Gibson Les Paul, which will eventually be sold as a signature model for Jones by Gibson in 2020. Marshall, Diezel, and Mesa Boogie amps are among his live amps used during recording and recording, mainly composed of Marshall, Diezel, and Mesa Boogie amps.

Jones designed the front page and inside liner art for several of Tool's albums, as well as the re-release of Peach's Giving Birth to a Stone, on which Jones' fellow Tool member Justin Chancellor appeared as bassist Justin Chancellor.

He helped the band Green Jell and their stage personas and clothing styles.

He was given the Grammy Award for Best Recording Package for his 10,000 Days of Art Director in 2007.

Jones was seen in the makeup on "Schism" and "Parabol/Parabola" videos.

Jones shoots photography that is used for the visuals at live Tool concerts in his spare time. On many large monitors in concert venues, as well as a band's history, the merging of photographs and art appears. The photographs were edited in order to display with specific songs on the set list.

Jones created his own comics, an artistic talent he discovered as a child. In 2010, Jones and 30 Days creator Steve Niles co-wrote an X-Files/30 Days of Night crossover, with art by Tom Mandrake.
