Perry Farrell Career

Music career

He became the frontman for Los Angeles' Psi Com and toured with a larger audience of local musicians including the bands X, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fishbone, Oingo Boingo, and the Minutemen. Psi Com stopped working around 1985, and Farrell met Eric Avery through mutual acquaintances. The two people began jam sessions, which would be the starting point for Jane's Addiction. Bernstein invented the pseudonym Perry Farrell for himself during this period as a play on the word "peripheral."

Jane's Addiction made its name in Los Angeles in the mid-1980s by establishing a rabid fan base with legendary, high-energy shows in small LA rock clubs. Addiction by Jane's Addiction, Nothing's Shocking, and Ritual de lo Habitual were three albums released before their first break-up: Jane's Addiction, Nothing's Shocking, and Ritual de lo Habitual. In Japan, a B-sides album from the Ritual sessions titled Live and Rare was released. Jane's Addiction in 1991 dropped due to internal conflicts over largely focused on heroin use, particularly Farrell's heavy use of heroin. This time was about right, as Spin magazine (1991 Vol. ) notes. 7 Num. 3) article about Farrell's "Ritual" tour, a rumor was that he had contracted HIV. Farrell will undoubtedly tease viewers with "news" of his alleged health, and will neither confirm nor deny it. In 1993, Farrell and his ex-girlfriend Casey Niccoli produced Gift, which starred Jane's Addiction. Warner Brothers was the first to receive a gift. Jane's Addiction reformed for a brief reunion tour, with Flea replacing Avery on bass.

Farrell has been credited with transforming the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival's fortunes. The event was not held in 2000 after the festival's disappointing first year in 1999. A decision was taken to revive the festival in 2001, but just a few months before the festival was scheduled, there was still no headlining team. Farrell, a friend of the festival's founders, decided to reunite Jane's Addiction for the 2001 festival, which attracted huge audiences and resulted in a monetary gain (not the case in 1999). At least one major artist is reuniting each year, and Coachella started a tradition.

In 2001 and 2003, Farrell appeared on Jane's Addiction again. Strays, Jane's Addiction's 2003 album, was released. It was quickly recognized Gold in the United States and Silver in the United Kingdom, and it was awarded Gold in the United Kingdom and Silver in the United Kingdom. They toured extensively in North America and Europe, bringing back Lollapalooza for the first time since 1997, as well as performing at the Big Day Out festivals in Australia and New Zealand. In early 2004, the band split up again due to internal tensions. Following the breakdown of this incarnation of the band in 2006, titled Up from the Catacombs, a "best of" collection was published.

The four original members of Jane's Addiction appeared together for the first time in 17 years at the first NME Awards in the United States on April 23, 2008, and then appeared in two small shows in Los Angeles during late 2008. Jane's Addiction, a reunited Jane, debuted at SXSW in 2009 and kicked off a summer tour with Nine Inch Nails. Eric Avery left the band in late 2009, leaving Farrell, Navarro, and Perkins as the only remaining members of Jane's Addiction. In 2011, The Great Escape Artists with Dave Sitek on bass formed The Great Escape Artist and have continued to tour.

Farrell formed Porno for Pyros with former bandmate Stephen Perkins, as well as newcomers Peter DiStefano on guitar and Martyn LeNoble on bass after Jane's Addiction broke down. Porno for Pyros and Good God's Urge were two of their two albums, together.

Farrell unveiled a rev in 1999, a collection of songs from his previous two bands as well as two new solo albums. He released Song Yet to Be Sung, his first solo album, in 2001, with lyrics inspired by Kabbalah.

Farrell has performed a number of solo albums on the internet, all of which were recorded with wife Etty Lau's presence. On the Twilight film soundtrack, their song "Go All the Way (Into the Twilight)" appeared.

Farrell and BMG Rights Management together with PerryEttyVS LLC in October 2018 announced their forthcoming album Kind Heaven in 2019.

Farrell formed the Satellite Party, a new band/theatrical group. Satellite Party is a concept album and tells the tale of a fictional band of musicians called the Solutionists, who are attempting to change the world. Etty Lau Farrell, Farrell's wife, designed the scheme. Etty appears on stage and appears on the radio as well as live stage shows. On July 18, 2005, Satellite Party made its debut in Los Angeles at The Key Club, followed by a show at Lollapalooza 2005, which was held in Grant Park in downtown Chicago on July 24, 2005.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers' debut album, Ultra Payloaded, was released on Columbia Records on May 29, 2007, with contributions from drummer John Frusciante and Flea, former Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Jack Irons, electronic dancers, famed Red Hot Chili Peppers/Pearl Jam drummer Jack Irons, Joy Division/New Order bassist Peter Hook, and Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas.

On April 27, 2007, the Satellite Party at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival took place. They appeared at the Download Festival in Donington, United Kingdom, on June 8. On June 29, they appeared alongside Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon, and Queens of the Stone Age at Rock Werchter, Belgium. They appeared at Buzz Beach Ball 3 in Kansas City (a KRBZ-sponsored concert) and EndFest 16 in Seattle.
