Early life and career beginnings
Poly was born in Perm, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, Perm, May 1985, and started modeling in 2000. She was found in Perm by Mauro Palmentieri and invited to Moscow to compete in the Russian model search competition "New Model Today," where she received the second prize. Since walking for Emanuel Ungaro in 2004, she made her runway debut with Why Not Model Agency. The year will be her breakout year, with fashion shows in Milan, Paris, and New York City, as well as modeling for Vogue Paris twice in a row.
Career
Poly was one of the faces to front cover of V magazine's September 2008 issue. Each cover featured a head shot of a well-known model, either from the latest crop of top designers (Agyness Deyn, Lara Stone, Anja Rubik, Daria Werbowy, Masha Novoselova, etc.) or simply from a photograph of a popular model. It was shot by duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in the supermodel era (Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova).
