Aleksandra Pivovarova (born 21 January 1985), also known as Sasha Pivovarova, is a Russian model and actress.

She is best known as Prada's longest-running fashion model, having appeared in 19 different AD Campaigns as of 2016 (a record Pivovarova has set for the brand).

Personal life

Pivovarova, a Moscow native, now lives in New York, where her home doubles as an art gallery. In a Teen Vogue interview, Pivovarova said, "I was playing with pencils while the other girls were playing with dolls." Pivovarova paints and draws in her spare time. Her paintings have been seen in a gallery in Paris, Mansion Grand in New York, and have been published in French Vogue. In an interview with CNN, she said she uses something as a canvas: hotel papers, casting, and itinerary papers—anything she can find. On December 1, 2011, she created a sleepwear collection based on fairy tales for Gap.

Pivovarova is married to photographer Igor Vishnyakov. They married in Thailand and recreated the scene for a photo shoot in the June 2009 edition of American Vogue with close relatives and acquaintances, including Jessica Stam and Irina Kulikova. Pivovarova never imagined herself a model until her friend and future husband, photographer Igor Vishnyakov, took photographs of her in 2005 and presented them to the international modeling company IMG.
