He received the Best Actor award at the 2001 International Teen Movie Festival (ITMF) in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada, for his own short film titled: Head Shot, which was one of 10,000 other entries at the festival.

"Miles Fisher, 'It' Boy," columnist Liz Smith referred to Fisher as "wunderkind" and "the next Tom Cruise" in a 2001 Newsday article titled "Miles Fisher, "the next Tom Cruise." Smith's comparison of Fisher to Tom Cruise resulted in meetings with influential executives and agents, and he joined Endeavor Talent Agency in 2002. Fisher appeared in the 2003 Civil War film Gods and Generals with Robert Duvall. In the film, director Ron Maxwell selected Fisher to portray a hero of the First Regiment of Virginia Volunteers; in the film, Duvall played Robert E. Lee.

In the 2008 film Superhero Movie, he parodied actor Tom Cruise. Fisher's role in the film was widely distributed on the Internet, including on Defamer's website, as well as on television on Entertainment Tonight and CNN's Showbiz Tonight. Over ten million times has been watched on the internet. Fisher's clip was seen over ten million times. Fisher's appearance in the Superhero Movie was the highlight of the film, according to a Baltimore Sun reporter, "Actor Miles Fisher echoes Tom Cruise's 'I am the Way, the Sun, the Light" Scientology recruiting video from last year to hilarious effect." Kenneth Herman, a rookie police officer on A&E Network's television show The Cleaner, was a recurring role.

In 2009, Fisher wrote and produced Heatshot, costarring Evan Nichols; the film was chosen to be screened at the AFI Dallas International Film Festival. Fisher had been cast in a television show set in 1983 in Southern California, a spinoff of Gossip Girl, according to Alan Peppard of The Dallas Morning News in March 2009. On the television series of the same name, he portrayed a "sleezy" coke dealer.

Fisher released Miles Fisher, his independently produced EP, as well as a music video for his interpretation of Talking Heads' "This Must Be The Place." The video is a salute to the 2000 film American Psycho, with Fisher honoring Christian Bale's appearance as Patrick Bateman. The American Film Institute students assisted in filming the film, which was shot in Los Angeles. The video was posted on YouTube and other web sites, and in the first 24 hours, Break.com alone received 200,000 hits. Darrell Hartman of Interview called the integration of the Talking Heads song with the American Psycho theme "a brilliant combination," and Fisher "created a viral hit."

Fisher played Geoff Graves, a friend of character Paul Kinsey, in the third season of Mad Men. Jessica Gelt of the Los Angeles Times characterized his appearance as a "preppy drug dealer." Fisher was cast in the film Final Destination 5 in 2010. Fisher revealed in an interview with Collider.com that the film was set in a commercial setting and that it was a 3-D film. Agent Garrison, an FBI employee who talks to Leonardo DiCaprio's Hoover throughout the film, appeared in Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar Hoover biopic, J. Edgar.

On July 19, 2011, Fisher released the song "New Romance" in both video and MP3 format on iTunes and his personal website. Saved By the Bell and the Final Destination series are parodydoutput. In addition, he appeared in the fifth film of the Final Destination franchise, portraying Peter Friedkin.

OverAverageNetwork on YouTube shared a music video for "Finish What We Started" on May 22, 2013. Lance Bass' music video has yet to be released a single for the song, although a new album called "Video Music" has since been released. Fisher's personal website has the music video.

Fisher saw a deepfake video by a Belgian visual effects (VFX) artist in which Fisher's eyes were replaced with those of Tom Cruise in the early 2020s. Fisher and the VFX artist developed YouTube and TikTok videos of Fisher doing mundane or silly things when posing as Cruise, satirizing Cruise's traditionally unapprovable public persona. The videos went viral in less than a few days, with millions of views in a matter of days. Fisher has not monetized the videos and has deliberately avoided topics of a potentially personal or controversial nature, as he did not get permission from Cruise to use his likeness for profit; Fisher referred to the campaign as "good-natured parody" because of his similar appearance.

A TV show demonstrates how convincing - and hence risky - 'deepfake' videos can be

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 5, 2023
If this all sounds like the ingredients of a long suburban nightmare, it is entirely the intention of a new ITV series that would be the world's first 'deepfake' comedy film. Deep Fake Neighbour Wars transpose glamorous celebrities to infinitely less glamorous locations, doing pedestrian jobs, and living in ordinary homes.
