Personal life

Chiara Mastroianni, a four-year-old actress, was dated by Poupaud from the age of 16 to 20. Despite the fact that the two groups separated, they continued to work and collaborate for decades, with Poupaud assisting her in pursuing acting as a profession, and Poupaud lauding Mastroianni for her relationship with her ex-husband Benjamin Biolay.

Career

In Ral Ruiz's 1983 film City of Pirates, Poupaud's first appearance was as an infant. He met Ruiz through his mother, Chantal Poupaud, who was a well-known press relations officer in the French film industry.

He appeared in François Ozon's Time to Leave and co-starred Parker Posey in Zoe Cassavetes' Broken English.

He also appeared in films including Eric Rohmer's A Summer's Tale, Arnaud Desplechin's A Christmas Tale, and François Ozon's The Refuge.

In Xavier Dolan's Laurence Anyways, he costarred with Suzanne Clément.
