Mario Rosenstock (born 31 August 1971) is an Irish actor, comedian, impressionist, and singer.
Career
Rosenstock first became aware of the Irish public's appearance in the 1990s' Dr. David Hanlon's role in Glenroe.
However, he is best known for the legendary Gift Grub segments on Today FM's Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show since 1999, which Rosenstock created with Paul McLoone, a radio presenter with Today FM and also frontman of the Northern Irish pop-punk/new-wave band, The Undertones, which appeared on Today FM in 1999 and when McLoone appeared as a producer for the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show in 1999.
Gift Grub is a series of comic sketches, impersonations, and parodies that have starred Rosenstock, Bertie Ahern, Ronan Keating, Colin Farrell, and Roy Keane, among other things; he also plays the male voice of Right Price Tiles radio spokesperson "Daft Dave."
In a parody of a song from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Rosenstock impersonated José Mourinho. This exploded on internet message boards, and then it was played on a Sky Sports broadcast. Mourinho had heard the song and loved the impersonation so much that he and the Chelsea squad agreed to perform a private show for him and the Chelsea squad. Rosenstock was later published, with Mourinho's permission, a single version of "José and his Amazing Technicolor Overcoat" on "José. In an interview that then burst into song, he also released another song ("I Sign a Little Player or Two") on the internet, including a parody of Mourinho.
Keano appeared in the comedy musical play I, Keano, which chastised Keane storming out of the Republic of Ireland's national football squad during preparations for the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Rosenstock's Christmas number one single in the Irish music charts in 2005, with a parody of Will Young's album Leave Right Now (which was also a Christmas number one in 2003). Roy Keane's tumultuous departure from Manchester United and his fallout with Alex Ferguson concerned the parody. Rosenstock is the last Irish national to top his country's Christmas charts as of 2011.
Rosenstock appeared on Special 1 TV (originally I'm on Setanta Sports), a parody weekly football talk show hosted by "José Mourinho) between December 2007 and May 2009. Rosenstock performed all the puppet characters on the show, with the notable exception of "Rafael Benitez," "Wayne Rooney," "Moy Keane," and "Mike McCarthy" as well as non-football characters Nelson Mandela, Willie Nelson, Barack Obama, and Tom Cruise.

On RTÉ2, he launched The Mario Rosenstock Exhibition in November 2012. In September 2013, a second series of the show premiered.
