Early life and career

Kylee Saunders was born in Chandler, Arizona, to a Japanese mother and British American father. Her father encouraged her to become a performer. She has a younger sister and a younger brother. She applied for the national anthem at the start of an NBA game as an eleven-year-old, earning a standing ovation. RX-Records, an independent label, gained her the attention of music producers, and she was signed to RX-Records. Saunders attended Stoller Middle School in Portland, Oregon, until 2007, when she returned to Arizona. She later attended Hamilton High School and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Stanford University in 2016.

RX-Records in the United States issued "Vacancy," her first single, "Vacancy," on October 17, 2008. As the ending theme to the Sony Computer Entertainment anime series Xam'd: Lost Memories, "vacancy" was included. Saunders released "Kimi ga Iru Kara" (, "Because You Are Here"), her first major-label single under Sony Music Japan's label DefStar Records, which was released as the theme song to the 2010 film Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac, a Japan-America co-production in which she also appeared in a cameo role. "Missing/It's You," the Bones and Stan Lee anime Heroman's second major-label single, was supposed to be released on July 7, 2010. She appeared as one of the first acts for the 2010 Summer Sonic Festival, as well as on the Urban/Dance Stage. "Everlasting" was her debut, and her single "Everlasting" was used as the theme tune for the second episode of the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn OVA collection. Saunders appeared on NBC's Today in the United States on May 13, 2011, where she was interviewed by Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford before he performed her fourth major single "Never Give Up" on May 13, 2011. Kylee appeared at Otakon 2011 in Baltimore, Maryland, on her first appearance in the United States. "Crazy for You," her fifth major single, was released on October 5, 2011; the song was used in a Japanese online clothing chain Nissen's 2011 fall collection television commercial. On November 23, 2011, Saunders debuted her debut album, 17. In May 2013, she performed a duet with Sam Tsui. She was married in August 2017.
