Professional career

Vasileiadis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece (origin from Elevtherochori, Kilkis) and raised in Kilkis, Greece. He started his work with PAOK of the Greek Basket League, where he began his professional career. He was PAOK's team captain, and he was active there for six years, from 2000 to 2006. He got off to a promising start with the club before heading to Málaga of Spain.

During the 2006-07 season, Vasileiadis, a well-known and popular player, was playing with the Spanish giants Málaga. Even though Vasileiadis was a player of the team, the Spanish team was able to make a difference in European competitions, partially due to his play and efforts. He will always be remembered and lauded by the club's supporters for their service and their support for the team on the court.

Despite being competitors to his personal favorite club and former Olympiacos, PAOK signed him on July 12, 2007. During the 2007-08 season, he helped Olympiacos to a second-place finish in the Greek League. After a disappointing 2007-08 season for the club, Vasileiadis returned to PAOK for the 2008–09 season as part of the club's revival efforts under new ownership. He was named team's captain for the first time this season.

He moved to Sutor Basket Montegranaro, Italy, before the 2008-09 season came to an end. In August 2009, he signed a deal with Obradoiro CAB in Spain. In 2010, he agreed to a three-year deal with Bilbao Basket in Spain, with the third year being optional. In 2013, he was named to the All-EuroCup First Team.

Vasileiadis agreed to a new deal with Turkish League team Anadolu Efes on July 19, 2013.

He signed a two-year contract with Unicaja Málaga on August 27, 2014. After one season, he left Málaga.

Vasileiadis was back to play for PAOK Thessaloniki in 2015. Vasileiadis, a PAOK player, advanced to the playoff quarterfinals of the Greek League against AEK Athens, where PAOK lost the series of two games to 1. He averaged 14.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game in the Greek League, as well as 13.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game during the season. He rejoined Obradoiro at the end of the season and continued to play there until the end of the Spanish League season.

He began a two-year contract with AEK Athens on June 17, 2016. He left AEK on July 24, 2017. He joined Aries Trikala of the Greek Basket League on October 10, 2017. He left Trikala on December 5, 2017 and joined Iberostar Tenerife for the remainder of the 2017-18 ACB season.

He signed a two-year contract with Monbus Obradoiro of the Liga ACB on July 15, 2018. Vasileiadis and Obradoiro announced their departures on July 16, 2020, his third stint with the Spanish club came to an end.

He has signed with UCAM Murcia of the Spanish Liga ACB on April 9, 2021.

National team career

Vasileiadis competed for the Greek national team as a youth with the junior men's Greek national teams. Both the 2002 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship and the 2003 FIBA Under-19 World Cup, where they were also named to the All-Tournament Team. He was selected to the 2004 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship All-Tournament Team, where he also led in scoring.

At the 2005 FIBA Under-21 World Cup, which was hosted in Argentina, the silver medal was also won and he was selected to the All-Tournament Team. He was also a member of the Greek national basketball team. He appeared at the 2011 EuroBasket and the 2014 FIBA World Cup with Greece's senior national team. He also participated in the 2012 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
