Andre Iguodala Career

College career

To play at Arkansas, Iodala first signed a National Letter of Intent. He had narrowed down his list of coveted colleges to two: Kansas or Arkansas. The point of entry into Iodala was enticed by Arkansas' 1–3 system, which would have permitted Iodala to run the point occasionally. While visiting with his mother and father, Iodala was struck by the Arkansas gymnasium and the number of followers at a game. However, Intrepida decided against Arizona instead, after Nolan Richardson was fired that year (2002). Channing Frye, Luke Walton, Mustafa Shakur, Salim Stoudamire, and Hassan Adams all met in Arizona. Hassan Adams' participation, which I had competed with in the Jordan Brand Classic in high school, was one of the determining factors. Many colleges thought Idala was regarded as a track star and basketball player, but teammate Luke Walton said, "He is going to be one of the finest players to ever come out of Arizona by the time he is finished." For 2002–2003, he was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshmen team. He quickly established himself as one of the best all-around players on the team, winning in nearly every major league.

Iodala, a sophomore in 2003-04, was named team MVP after leading his team in rebounds, assists, and steals. He served on the All-Pac-10 First Team as well as the Associated Press' Honorable Mention All-America award. He recorded three triple-doubles in a season, joining Jason Kidd as the only two Pac-10 players to reach double-doubles in a season. Both seasons, the Wildcats made it to the NCAA Tournament during his time as a student at Arizona. The Wildcats were defeated by Kansas in the Elite Eight in his freshman year. Arizona was disqualified in the first round by Seton Hall in his sophomore year. In 62 games (34 starts), he missed out on career totals of 594 points (9.6 ppg), 409 rebounds (1.53 spg), and 95 steals (1.53 spg) in 594 games (34 starts) before retiring to the NBA draft. Iodala, a student at the University of Arizona, wanted to major in education. Iodala's agent, Rob Pelinka, has worked with Landmark Sports Agency, who had worked with NBA All-Stars such as Kobe Bryant, Carlos Boozer, and Gerald Wallace during the season.

Professional career

The Philadelphia 76ers' Iodala was ranked 9th overall in the 2004 NBA draft. When Iodala was chosen, ESPN analyst Dick Vitale said that it was a mistake for the Sixers to draft him. "Irmodala was a [27 percent] shooter from the college three-point line." "He's not going to be able to play," Idala used this as motivation in what was to be a fruitful rookie season. During his rookie season, Iverson was thrown into the starting lineup for all 82 regular-season games plus 5 playoff games, becoming Allen Iverson's favorite target in the game, often focusing on highlight-reel dunks on passes or alley-oops from Iverson. Irmodala displayed his versatility against the defending champions of the Detroit Pistons, as he was the only rookie and 76er to post a triple-double this season. He scored ten points, grabbed ten rebounds, and disdished out ten assists in the game. He averaged 9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 32.8 minutes per game during the season. Since being named to the All-Rookie First Team and embarking on the rookie team's Rookie Challenge portion of All-Star Weekend, he was rewarded. In the year's polls for NBA Rookie of the Year, he came in fourth place.

Idala, the only Sixer to play in and start all 82 games in his second season, was now a permanent fixture in the 76ers' starting rotation. Iodala, a 30-point leader in the Sophomores' victory, earned MVP honors on February 17, 2006 at the Rookie Challenge. He appeared in the Slam Dunk Competition a day later. His first dunk was a simple windmill, but Allen Iverson gave him a pass off the backboard, then hopped under the board and reverted to a perfect score of 50 points on the other hand. He did a back-to-back dunk and then a reverse in the final round. Robinson had failed 14 straight attempts before he got to his final one, but in a contentious decision, he was given Nate Robinson. On the season, Iodala averaged 12.3 points and 5.9 rebounds.

Iverson will have to get used to his new leadership role with the 76ers after Allen Iverson was traded to the Denver Nuggets and Chris Webber was fired. The Sixers were 9–26 at the time of Webber's transfer (Iverson had only played 15 games before being cut). With Iodala now averaging 40.3 minutes per game, he led the Sixers on a late-season appearance, winning the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs while other teams "tanking" to get a higher draft pick. He went on to finish the season with 18.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Tracy McGrady were among the four players to average at least 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, with the others being LeBron James, Tracy McGrady, and Tracy McGrady.

Idala got off to a rocky start to the season, even though he was leading the way in turnovers at a point. He began to play more as the season progressed, leading Philadelphia to a playoff appearance. With a win over the Atlanta Hawks on April 4, the 76ers closed the season at 40–42, winning 22 of their last 29 games and gaining a playoff spot. Through the 82 games, Iodala averaged 19.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. The No. 2 was due to face Philadelphia in a match. Detroit is a 2 seed. After leading the series 2–1, the Sixers lost in the first round to the Pistons in six games. Iodala's playoffs run was poor, with 13 points per game averaged. According to reports, the Sixers' Irmodala team agreed to a six-year, $80 million contract extension on August 12, 2008. He officially signed on August 17, 2008. For the sixth year, the deal had $5 million in compensation and a player option.

With the signing of All-Star forward Elton Brand and the success of forward Thaddeus Young, who was drafted with their lottery pick the previous year, Iodala was on a Sixers team with high hopes early in the year. In the 2008–09 season, Iodala began to play more as a facilitator on the offensive end of the floor, becoming more effective as a facilitator. Philadelphia was struggling early in the season, resulting in the departure of head coach Maurice Cheeks. Under Tony DiLeo, the 76ers played much better basketball. Iremodala's senior captain and veteran point guard Andre Miller helped lead the Sixers to another playoff appearance this season, finishing sixth in the Eastern Conference at 41–41. The 76ers were scheduled to face the third seed Orlando Magic in the playoffs. In Game 1, Orlando had an 18-point lead in the fourth quarter, but the Sixers defeated Hedo Türkoho with a dramatic surge, fadeaway jumper, and Ido Borodala took the lead with a 2.2 seconds remaining. In the playoffs, the Sixers eventually lost to the Magic, losing in the second round. Through 82 regular-season games, Iodala had averaged 18.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.

Since the departure of veteran point guard Andre Miller, who had signed the Portland Trail Blazers, Philadelphia drafted point guard Jrue Holiday out of UCLA to fill the void left at point guard in the preseason. Eddie Jordan was hired by the Sixers to replace Tony DiLeo. Iodala's career averaged rebounds, assists, and blocks, as well as a career-low in personal fouls. He ended the season with 17.1 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 5.8 apg, and 1.7 spg. The Sixers were, on the other hand, a huge disappointment, going 27-55 during the regular season and missing the playoffs after two straight playoff appearances. Allen Iverson, the 76ers' old friend, came back to Iodala in what would be his last season in the NBA before going to play overseas for Beşiktaş.

The 76ers were expected to rebound from their poor showing in 2010–11 NBA season. Eddie Jordan, the Sixers' head coach, was fired and Doug Collins was brought on. Samuel Dalembert, the Philadelphia Kings' veteran big man, was traded to the Sacramento Kings for younger center Spencer Hawes; the 76ers also acquired Andrés Nocioni in the trade. With the second overall pick in the draft, the Sixers made a big splash by drafting Evan Turner. Philadelphia started the season poorly, but they were one of the best teams down the stretch. As the 76ers finished with a 41-41 record, Iodala was hampered by an Achilles injury, resulting in career lows in games played and started, field-goal percentage, free-throw percentage, and steals per game. Nonetheless, he had his best season in assists with 6.3 apg and helped the Sixers advance to the playoffs as the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. Andre was the subject of several trade rumors throughout the year, with him reportedly being traded to either the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, or Los Angeles Lakers. In the first round, Irmodala's guarding James and Dwyane Wade were sent. In 5 games, the 76ers were eventually defeated. Iodala was named to the NBA All-Defensive Team Second Team for his defensive efforts throughout the season, but his coaches and teammates lobbied for him to be included in the First Team. He demonstrated his versatility during the season by leading to a career-best in triple-doubles. During the 2010–11 season, Iodala came in second second behind James for the most triple-doubles.

Ida Lynch spent a week with Merrill Lynch during the 2011 NBA lockout.

In a victory over the Pistons on his 28th birthday, Iodala put on a 10-point, 10-rebound, 10-assist triple-double effort. He was selected as a reserve for his first All-Star Game later this season. His average was the lowest among the 24 All-Stars, but he was rewarded for being the best player on the 76ers, who were ranked in the Atlantic Division. Collins referred to him as a "stat-sheet stuffer." Idala's average was 12.4 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 5.5 apg, 1.7 spg, and 35.6 mpg during the 2011–12 NBA season. He helped the Philadelphia 76ers clinch the final seed in the playoffs. He made two free throws with 2.2 seconds left to win the game and help the Sixers beat the Bulls in Game 6 of the franchise's first playoff series since 2003. It was also the fifth time an eighth seed defeated a first seed in the first round of the playoffs. In a thrilling seven games in the Conference Semifinals, the Boston Celtics eventually defeated them.

Irmodala was traded to the Denver Nuggets in a string of trades involving the Sixers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Orlando Magic on August 10, 2012. All-Stars Andrew Bynum and Dwight Howard were among the players involved in the trade. Denver made some league analysts rank Denver as a favorite. Iodala's former squad was back on opening night of 2012-2013 to play his old team. In an 84–75 loss, he put up 11 points and the audience responded in a mixed manner. Despite Iodala's winning in the first round, the Nuggets advanced to the playoffs with a record 15 straight victories; however, the Golden State Warriors defeated them in the first round, despite the Nuggets' averaging 18 points, 8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 2 steals per game in the series. George Karl, the Nuggets' coach who just received the NBA Coach of the Year award, was fired as a result of his dismissal.

Iodala's five-year contract with Denver ended in July 2013 and the Golden State Warriors' $48 million contract came to an end. In a three-team sign-and-trade contract with the Nuggets and the Utah Jazz, he officially joined the Warriors. In the Warriors' 116–115 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder, Iodala made the game-winning, buzzer-beating shot on November 14. Getting the inbound pass from Klay Thompson, Iodala turned and fired a fade-away jump over the Thunder's Thabo Sefolosha. Iodala had 14 points and nine assists on his way to victory. When playing against the Los Angeles Lakers on November 23, 2013, I pulled his left hamstring early in the third quarter. Unfortunately, Iodala went on to miss twelve games in a row. However, the Irmodala Redskins returned to action against the New Orleans Pelicans on December 17, 2013. In the Warriors' 101–100 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on January 3, 2014, Iodala defeated the Atlanta Hawks on a game-winning, 3-point buzzer-beater. With the victory, the Warriors' season-long winning streak extended to eight games. Iodala was named to the 2014 All-NBA Defensive first team for his defensive contributions to the Warriors.

In favour of forward Harrison Barnes, the first-year Warriors coach Steve Kerr has promoted Iodala from the starting rotation to the sixth man reserve position in the 2014-15 season. Iodala had played in 806 games as a starter before deciding on a game as a reserve, which was a league record in that period. In a 114-95 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, he scored a then-season-high 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting on March 18, 2015. The Warriors advanced to the NBA Finals in 2015 against Cleveland, where he was the team's best defender against Cavaliers star James. Iodala made his first appearance of the season on Saturday by defeating center Andrew Bogut in Game 4 and losing Golden State 2–1. Iodala posted a season-high 22 points on 8-of-15 shots, with four of them being 3-pointers. The Warriors' tiny roster, which came to be known as the Death Lineup, was able to turn the game around. The Warriors won the Finals MVP award in six games against the Cavaliers, and Iodala was named the first player to win the award without playing a single game during the regular season. He was also the first MVP not to play in any game in the Finals. He finished the series with 16.3 points, 4 assists, and 5.8 rebounds. Compared to 44% without Iodala, James made only 38.1% of his shots when Iodala was playing.

Isodala scored a season-high 20 points against the Memphis Grizzlies on November 11, 2015, helping the Warriors kick off the season 9-0. The Warriors' NBA record got off to a good start on December 12, when they defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 108–95. Iodala was forced to miss 13 games in a row due to an ankle injury suffered in early March. The Warriors earned their first seed in the Western Conference with a 73-9 record, the highest overall record in NBA history, beating the 1995–96 Chicago Bulls' record of 72–10, while Irmodala finished as the runner-up for the 2015–16 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award. The Warriors defeated the eighth-seeded Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs, and Iodala won by 22 points on April 24, the eighth in the first round of the playoffs. In five games, the Warriors advanced to defeat the Rockets. Iodala played a key role in the Warriors' victory over the Portland Trail Blazers in five games, qualifying for the Western Conference Finals. Iodala led the Warriors from a 3–1 deficit to a 4–3 victory in the conference finals match against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Iodala's defense of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook was instrumental in the Warriors' victory in Game 6 of the season. Harrison Barnes was substituted by Iodala in Game 7 and Kevin Durant was introduced again. For the second straight year, the Warriors advanced to the NBA Finals after winning Game 7 on Game 7. For the title, the Warriors will face the Cleveland Cavaliers once more. Despite the Warriors going up 3–1 in the series following Game 4's triumph, the Warriors then went on to lose the series in seven games to become the first team in NBA history to lose the championship series after being up 3–1. I was going for a layoff in Game 7 with the score tied at 89 minutes, when Cleveland's James recovered for a chase-down block with 1:50 remaining, a game that came to be referred to as "The Block."

The Cleveland Hawks thrashed the Warriors 105-100, kicking off the season 16–2 for their 12th straight victory—their first franchise victory in history. In a 126-91 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, he came off the bench to make all five of his field goal attempts for a season-high 14 points. Rob Pelinka, a long-serving agent for the Los Angeles Lakers, was appointed as the new general manager for the Los Angeles Lakers in February 2017; Iodala decided to remain with the Landmark Sports Agency, and Iodala's agent Brandon Rosenthal took over as the Iodala's representative. In a 119-111 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on March 6, 2017, he tied for a new season record with 24 points. Following the Warriors' loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on March 10, he was fined $10,000 by the NBA for using offensively intemperate terms in an interview. With a 67-15 record, the Warriors became the first seed in the West this season. The Warriors earned their third straight NBA playoffs series in the Western Conference Finals after defeating the Spurs 129–115 on Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, defeating the Spurs in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, becoming the first team in the Western Conference Finals in 12–0. In the NBA Finals, the Warriors will meet the Cleveland Cavaliers again, with Iodala often guarding James and scoring 20 points in Game 5, assisting the Warriors in their victory over the Cavaliers in five games.

I started the 2017 off-season as a free agent and visited with many competing clubs, including the Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings, and the Houston Rockets. However, Iodala re-signed with the Warriors on a three-year, $48 million deal on July 25, 2017. Irmodala played his 1,000th regular-season game against the Portland Trail Blazers on December 11, 2017, becoming one of only 126 players in NBA history to achieve the feat. After missing the final four games of the Western Conference Finals and the first two games of the NBA Finals due to a left lateral leg contusion, Iodala participated in Game 3 of the 2018 NBA Finals. With a landslide of the Cavaliers, the Warriors captured their third championship in four years.

In the regular season, Iodala averaged 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. He boosted his averages to 9.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists during the playoffs, while simultaneously starting the majority of the games. Kerr opened the conference semifinals against Houston by removing Iodala from the bench and launching their Hamptons Five lineup for the first time in the season. After playing nine games in a row, he missed Game 4 in the conference finals against Portland due to a sore left calf injury from Game 3. For the fifth straight season, the Warriors returned to the NBA Finals for the fifth straight season, but the Toronto Raptors defeated them in six games. Iodala lost by 114–110 in Game 6 for his best scoring output of the season. Thompson, on the other hand, with the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee, and Durant was already out of the game after rupturing his right Achilles tendon in Game 5.

On July 7, 2019, Golden State traded Iodala and a shielded first-round draft pick to the Memphis Grizzlies for Julian Washburn. In the contract, the Warriors were given a trade player exception. While recovering from Thompson's injury, the Golden State was considering a replacement, and the trade freed salary cap space for them to sign All-Star guard D'Angelo Russell, who had announced earlier that he wanted to join the Nets. The Warriors also stated that they expected to ban Iodala's No. 2 later this year. The jersey number 9 is 9 years old.

The Grizzlies, who were rebuilding, struck an agreement before training camp to encourage Iodala to stay away from the team and train on his own. Rather than buying out the 35-year-old soldier, who was earning $17 million in the last year of his deal, the Tampa Bay veterans retained him on their 15-man opening day roster instead of selling him out. In exchange for Iodala's and his championship experience, Memphis was hoping for a quality trade with a playoff contender. Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant, among others who chastised him for refusing to play as disrespectful, reacted angrily to his decision to stay away from the team.

Irmodala was traded to the Miami Heat in a three-team trade along with Jae Crowder and Solomon Hill with Memphis and Minnesota on February 6, 2020. He agreed to a two-year, $30 million contract with Miami, with the last year being a team option. The Heat advanced to the 2020 NBA Finals, losing 4–2 to the Los Angeles Lakers, and Iodala became the tenth player in NBA history to reach six straight Finals.

In a bench role for the 2020-21 season, Izadala continued with the Miami Heat in a bench role. The Heat did not use their $30 million option of Iodala's 2021-22 season, making him a free agent, as of the 2020-2021-22 season.

Iodala, the Golden State Warriors, returned to Iodala on August 10, 2021. He played in 31 games from January to April with back pains. After the Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in 6 games of the 2022 NBA Finals, Iodala claimed his fourth championship.

Idala re-signed with the Warriors on September 23, 2022, and announced his intention to retire after the season.

National team career

Iodala was a member of the national team in the 2010 FIBA World Championship, winning the gold medal. With a series of quickbreak dunks, Ibodala displayed his athleticism in the FIBA World Championships.

Iodala was also selected for the 2012 London Olympics team, largely due to his unrivaled defensive skills. In a 107–100 victory, he helped Team USA win the gold medal against Spain. Coach Mike Krzyzewski named Iodala as one of the team's top players, comparing his game to that of Scottie Pippen.

At the FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship in 2002, Iodala also received a bronze medal.

In a phone interview on Friday morning, Iodala, 39, told Andscape about his retirement. 'It's just the right time,' Idala said. My time was getting limited for me, and I didn't want to put anything in the back seat.' I didn't want to have to try to delegate time anymore. Especially when on the court, there is no way to get out of the courthouse with a family.' Fatherhood was cited as another determining factor in his decision when his children were in their teenage years.

Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors has been dubbed 'probable to return' against the Lakers on Sunday

Curry, 34, is expected to make his NBA debut against the LeBron-less Lakers after partially damaging a ligament in his left knee against Dallas on February 4. Anthony Davis will lead the Lakers' offense. Andre Iodala, a veteran of the Warriors, is also expected to be available in just his second game of the season after suffering with right hip pain that has kept him out of NBA action since January 13. The Lakers threw up a 124-111 home victory ten days ago, the last time the Western Conference playoff contenders met.

LeBron James is BETTER than Michael Jordan, claims Draymond Green, as he faced harder competition

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 5, 2022
When he dropped his top-five NBA all-time greats on the UINTERRUPTED's new episode of 'Throwing Bones,' the Warriors actor didn't hold back his opinion. James was named the best player ever. 'MJ didn't beat the greatest team ever assembled,' Green said, referring to the Golden State Warriors' 2016-17, which featured Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andre Iodala. 'Nor did he run up against the greatest team ever assembled every year,' adding that James' competition has been much more intense than when Jordan played.'
