KK Career

Career

KK spent six months as a marketing manager before pursuing his passion of music after obtaining a degree in commerce from Kirori Mal College. He struggled to establish himself in the competitive recording business, performing at hotels to make ends meet. In 1994, KK migrated to Mumbai.

He had no formal musical education. "KK had an emotional elasticity that matched all the seasons of the heart," film producer Mahesh Bhatt said. He may be frivolous, romantic, and satisfied. He could dive into the depths, explore the mystery and magic of life.

It was unimportant for a singer's face to be seen, according to KK, but "a singer must be heard." In a 2019 interview, he said he felt fine with a microphone but not so awkward in front of a camera. KK cherished and "strongly" shielded his information. He did not want his singing to be associated with a particular actor and preferred performing for a number of actors.

KK gave Louis Banks, Ranjit Barot, and Lesle Lewis a demo tape in 1994. He was called by UTV and performed a jingle for a Santogen Suiting ad. KK performed over 3,500 jingles in 11 languages over a four-year period. Lesle Lewis was his mentor for bringing him his first jingle to sing in Mumbai. KK later became a playback singer, beginning with A. R. Rahman's "Kalluri Saaley" and "Hello Dr." from Kadir's "Strawberry Kannae" in 1997, Minsara Kanavu.

In Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), KK made his Bollywood debut with the song "Tadap Ke Is Dil Se." However, he had sung portions of "Chod Aye Hum" in Gulzar's Maachis (1996) before this performance. KK regarded "Tadap Ke Is Dil Se" as his career's turning point. "Dola Re Dola" in Devdas (2004), "Khuda Jane" in Bachna Ae Haseeno (2006), "Khuda Jane" in Murder 3 (2013), "Mat Aazma Re" in Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), "Dola" in Bah Lamhe (2006), "Dola Peda" in Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), and "Dola" in Bahu "Dola" in Devla" in Devla" in Devdas "Khu Peda Aa "Khu Aach" in Aa Ae Aya Aa Aa Aya Aya Aye Aa Aa Aye Aa Aika Aa "B" in Baj in Bajeno "Pi Aa" in Bike "Khu B" in Bajna Aa Na" in Bajrangi Bha Nes (2013), "Aa Aya Bajhe a Bajhe (Ba Nehu Djaan "Ae Aichuna Aa Aa Ai Aa Aa Bike Na" in Bahu Ae Aa Ne "Khu Bike" in Bajta Ae Ne (Aya N" in Bajta Aye Ae Ae Nehu Aa Bike Aye Ae Aa Aisma Bike Aa Aa Aich Neona Aa A Aiko "A Aa Aa Ae "Aa Aa Ai Aa Bhe A A.

Six Filmfare Awards were given to KK. From the film Bachna Ae Haseeno's "Khuda Jaane" he received the 2009 Screen Awards Best Playback Singer – Male award. On a song for Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga, KK collaborated with filmmaker Srijit Mukherji and lyricist Gulzar in 2022. "Dhoop Paani Bahne De" was the first song to be released after his death.

"Appadi Podu," KK's Tamil song "Appadi Podu" became very popular in India and was played at clubs and weddings. In 1997, he collaborated with A. R. Rahman on "Strawberry Kanne," a well-known film.

During the 2000s, he had hit songs. In 2001, KK performed "Love Pannu" for Harris Jayaraj, followed by "Kadhal Oru Katchi" and "Gundu Gundu Ponne" afterward. He had two hits by Harris Jayaraj in 2003: "Uyirin Uyire" and "Kalyanam Kattittu." "Uyirin Uyire" was a hit in towns, and "Kalyanam Kattittu" became extremely popular in Tamil Nadu.

"Kadhal Valarthen," a KK performance composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, was performed by the KK. He performed with Harris Jayaraj and Yuvan Shankar Raja to produce two hit songs: "Kadhalikkum Aasai" and "Ninaithu Ninaithu." Harris Jayaraj's "Andankakon Kondaikaari" was another chart-breaking hit. In the film Chandramukhi, KK sang "Annanoda Paatu"; "Pani Thuli," "Olikuchi Udambukari," and "Lelakku Lela" were two other Tamil hit songs. Despite his birth in Thrissur to a Malayali family, KK performed just one Malayalam song in his 25-year career: "Rahasyamay" in Puthiya Mukham (2009).

KK was chosen and released his debut solo album, Pal, starring Lesle Lewis of the duo Colonial Cousins (who also produced and produced the album). Pal was a pop rock song.
