Sujatha Mohan (also known as Sujatha) is an Indian playback artist known for her appearances in Malayalam and Tamil films.

She has also appeared in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi films.

She has performed many songs in Malayalam, making her the fourth-most popular Malayalam singer.

Personal life

Sujatha Mohan is the granddaughter of Parur T. K. Narayana Pillai, the first Chief Minister of the erstwhile Travancore-Cochin State after India gained Independence. When she was two years old, her father, Dr. Vijayendran, died. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Economics from St. Teresa's College in Ernakulam. On May 9, 1981, she married Dr. V. Krishna Mohan. Shweta Mohan, her only daughter, is also a singer. Radhika Thilak and G. Venugopal are her cousins.

Baby Sujatha, the schoolgirl who used to perform with K. J. Yesudas in his stage, came to fame in the seventies. Yesudas, a sex girl who used to perform with K. J. Yesudas in his performances, performed all over the world. When she was in the sixth grade, she performed "Kannezhuthy Pottuthottu." M. K. Arjunan produced the song for the 1975 Malayalam film Tourist Bungalow. In Aparadhi, she recorded songs for Shyam Moham Moham Moham Moham and Salil Chowdhury. M. G. Radhakrishnan, composer, began to record numerous non-film songs around this time; the most well-known of them was "Odakkuzhal Vili."

She debuted in Tamil through the song "Kaadhal Kandein" by Kavikuyil (1977), which was tuned in Illayaraja's Hameer Kalyani raga, but not included in the film. "Kalai Paniyil" from the Tamil film Gaayathri (1977), starring Sridevi and Rajinikanth with music by Ilaiyaraja, was her first recorded song in Tamil.
