Pickler made his name as a contestant on American Idol's fifth season and finished in sixth position.

Small Town Girl, her debut album, was released later this year and has sold over 900,000 copies.

The album, which was rated gold by the Royal Institute of British Architects, released three singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts: "I Wonder" at #15, "I Wonder" at #15, and "Things That Never Cross a Man's Mind" at #16. Pickler's self-titled second album in 2008 (which she co-wrote with Taylor Swift), "Don't You Know How Much I Loved You" at #211, "Best Days of Your Life") at #9, and "Makin' Me Fall in Love Again" at #30, both on the top of her charts. Pickler was ranked as the 14th best American Idol alumna in 2012.

She sacked from her old record label and signed with Black River Entertainment in October 2012. Pickler and her partner, Derek Hough, were proclaimed champions of the sixteenth season of Dancing with the Stars on May 21, 2013.

She was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in 2016 from 2017-2019. Pickler & Ben, a nationally syndicated daytime television talk show, was hosted by comedian Ben Aaron.

Early life

Kellie Pickler was born in 1986, at Stanly Memorial Hospital in Albemarle, North Carolina, to Cynthia Morton and Clyde "Bo" Pickler, Jr. Kellie's mother left when she was two years old and then returned and took care of her for two years. Kellie was returned to her grandparents when she was 12 years old, but her parents raised her to adulthood because her father was absent in her life. Pickler says her grandfather, Clyde Raymond Pickler, Sr., a retired electrician, and grandmother, Faye Pickler, were the two key influences in her life. Pickler graduated from North Stanly High School in New London, North Carolina, in 2004. She was a cheerleader and beauty queen. At her high school graduation, LeAnn Rimes performed "On the Side of Angels."

She spent time as a carhop at a Sonic Drive-In franchise, and she made an appearance on Gimme the Mike on WSOC-TV in 2005. The Charlotte race is a classic. She came in second place in second place. She competed for Miss North Carolina 2004 and won the "Miss Stanly County" pageant at age 17, then competed for Miss North Carolina.

Personal life

Pickler's parents split up the day after her second birthday, but her mother vanished a year later, in July 1989. During times when her father, Bo, was incarcerated, she would live with her grandparents outside Albemarle, 45 miles (72 kilometers) northeast of Charlotte. Pickler's mother returned to Albemarle in 1992, but she never came to know her. However, her mother was released in March 1995, despite Bo Pickler's incarceration for armed robbery. Pickler was in the fourth grade at the time. "She had custody of me for two years," Pickler said in a Charlotte Observer interview in February 2006. Pickler's grandparents said that her mother and her mother had migrated to Union County with her and treated her harshly. The court has restored custody of the grandparents. Pickler hasn't heard from her mother since her mother vanished again, and Pickler hasn't heard from her since. Her father, a heroin and opioid addict, served a three-month prison term in Florida State Prison for aggravated assault and battery arising from a 2003 stabbing attack. He was released on May 6, 2006, a week after she was barred from Idol. "One thing that's so important in life is that we learn to forgive others," NBC Pickler said in an interview with April 2006. Every day, I beggarly for my sins and for conduct that I've committed wrong. And who am I to excuse someone for something they've done? "God tells us to love everybody."

Dolly Parton, her personal "idol" and most influential, reached her on February 26, 2007. Sony BMG Nashville chairman Joe Galante orchestrated the surprise.

Pickler was in a relationship with Nashville Predators player Jordin Tootoo and visited his family in Nunavut in 2007. The two ties ended earlier this year.

Summer Miller, Pickler's closest friend, was introduced to him when they were teen pageant hopefuls. Pickler is close friends with Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, who co-wrote Pickler's second album "Best Days of Your Life" from her album Kellie Pickler; and Katharine McPhee, an American Idol roommate, as she was a bridesmaid at McPhee's 2008 wedding.

Carrie Underwood, a vegetarian who has lived since childhood, joined Carrie Underwood in giving up eating meat in June 2008. Pickler said she originally decided against going vegetarian for health reasons, but an animal rights organisation PETA piqued her curiosity. "One night I couldn't sleep, I was up, and just Googling random stuff, and I'm like, 'Hmmm, PETA." I watched all the videos and thought it was horrible. It's an animal cruelty. A lot of it has to do with finding out what happens to the animals, which bothered me and so I did not eat meat." Pickler was nominated for and received the title of "World's Sexiest Vegetarian," according to PETA in May 2009.

Pickler proposed on a beach at sunset on June 15, 2010, the day of her late grandmother's birthday. Pickler said the couple had planned a lavish wedding, but as the date approached, "I looked at him and said, 'Baby, this ain't us.'" On January 1, 2011, she and Jacobs eloped and married on a "small, personal island in the Caribbean" on a "personal island.

Pickler shaved her head on Good Morning America in favor of her friend, Summer Holt Miller, who began chemotherapy following breast cancer.

Pickler and Jacobs would appear in a 13-episode reality competition for CMT named I Love Kellie Pickler. On November 5, 2015, the show premiered on November 5, 2015.

Pickler supports St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where she helps raise funds and gives kids special visits. She also volunteers in charitable causes to help raise funds for various charities. On November 12, 2006, she visited Pennington Elementary School to help the Children's Hospital repair the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina. "It's a great thing to give back to your families and organizations like St. Jude." Pickler said. "It's been a wonderful journey, and I encourage anyone and everybody to help."

Pickler performed in a charity auction held by Mario Magro on June 15-26, 2007 in favor of orphaned and abandoned children. At the 42nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, the celebrity lip prints and signatures were auctioned on the inside of Mario Magro Crystal Le Coop handbags. Pickler appeared on a celebrity version of the quiz show Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? in November 2007, playing for the charities of her choice (American Red Cross and the AARP's Grandparent Program). She was asked to name the European country for which Budapest is the capital, and she replied "I thought Europe was a republic" because "I know they speak French."

Pickler has served on three tours on behalf of United Service Organizations. In late 2007 and early 2008, she was the first female to Iraq; the second in December 2008 featured stops in Germany, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, Kosovo, and England. Pickler and Jamey Johnson made stops in Iraq and Kuwait in January 2010. "The three actors served remote bases on the front lines of the war zone, and the sound of gun fire became their frequent companion at night."

Pickler appeared in ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's rebirth of James Terpenning's family home in Beavercreek, Ohio, in early August 2009. Pickler appeared at a free concert at home and assisted with the reconstruction process.

Pickler and her crew received $25,000 for their charity, USO, on June 26, 2016, during an episode of Celebrity Family Feud.

Post-Idol career

In several of her appearances since being banned, she appeared on numerous television shows promoting the TV show and performed "Walkin' After Midnight" in some of her appearances.

She returned to Albemarle, North Carolina, on May 6, 2006, for a parade and a reunion with her father. The mayor of Albemarle gave her a key to the city. The mayor also declared the day "Kellie Pickler Day" on the calendar. On the American Idol television show, Pickler received several awards from local and statewide government officials recognizing her achievements.

Pickler's aspirations in Nashville, Tennessee, were sparked only shortly thereafter. She signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/BNA Records on July 17, 2006. On The View, she later revealed it herself.

Tour 2006, a tour de Provence, has been touring for three months in various cities. Pickler worked on her album in collaboration with leading industry experts in various cities where the tour took her.

"Red High Heels," her first album, debuted on September 13, 2006, and its music video was announced on October 20, 2006. "Breakthrough Video of the Year" was nominated for the CMT Video Awards.

Small Town Girl, her debut album on October 31, 2006, ranked first on Billboard's Top Country Albums and landed at number nine in its first week, making Pickler the most popular first-week sales for a new artist since 2006. Pickler co-wrote five songs with songwriters Chris Lindsey, Aimee Mayo, and Karyn Rochelle on the album.

Pickler co-hosted The View on January 18, 2007, a gold record for Pickler, who also announced that her album has hit the 500,000-seller mark. Cynthia Morton performed her second single, "I Wonder," which is a personal song about her missing relationship with her mother, Cynthia Morton. It was the first time the song was seen on national television.

For the 42nd Academy of Country Music Awards, Pickler was nominated for "Top New Female Vocalist."

She appeared on "Bonfires & Amplifiers" with Brad Paisley from April 2007 to October as one of the opening acts. The tour was sold in at least 37 cities around North America, with a few stops in Canada.

Pickler unveiled a "Santa Baby" version in September 2007 for a Christmas country compilation. Pickler received a songwriter award for co-writing "Red High Heels" at the ASCAP Awards in Nashville, Tennessee, a month later. At the 2007 CMA Awards, she performed "I Wonder." She was obviously overcome with emotion and struggled to even finish the song before bursting into tears during the performance. The performance was greeted with standing ovation. She was also nominated for the Horizon Award. The result result culminated in her CMT awards in April.

Pickler returned to the studio to record her second studio album for 19 Recordings/BNA Records, while "Things That Never Cross a Man's Mind" was gaining a following. At the ACM Awards on May 18, 2008, she performed her debut single, "Don't You Know You're Beautiful" and received a warm response from the audience. She had been nominated for "Top New Female Vocalist," but Taylor Swift took home the grand prize.

"Don't You Know You're Beautiful" was first broadcast on radio in June 2008, and it was a Top 25 hit for Pickler, peaking at number twenty-one. Kellie Pickler, her second album, was released on September 30, 2008, and debuted on the top of the country chart, as well as number nine on the Billboard 200, with over 43,000 copies in its first week. It matched her first album, Small Town Girl, in the premiere spots.

Pickler's second single from her album Best Days of Your Life debuted at the CMA Awards on November 12, 2008. At the 2009 CMT Music Awards for "Don't You Know You're Beautiful," Pickler was nominated for "Female Video of the Year." She lost to Swift for the second time. With Idol judge Randy Jackson, she also received the award for "USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year."

On the first leg of her Fearless Tour 2009, Pickler accompanied Swift on the first leg. She opened her first headline concert tour in June for her self-titled album. Pickler would be on the second leg of the Fearless Tour on October 8.

On August 30, 2009, Pickler's re-recording "Doing You Know How Much I Loved You" became the album's third single. The song debuted on the US charts at number 55. Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart hit number five, her fifth top 20 hit, peaking at number fourteen in February 2010.

Pickler received the honor of the most beautiful woman in country music for the second year in a row on October 26, Canada Weekly's best female in country music poll. According to Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood, the second and third positions were respectively named.

On April 19, 2010, the album's fourth single, "Makin' Me Fall in Love Again," was released. It debuted at number 53 and reached its high point at number 30.

Pickler's third album would be produced by Frank Liddell, who is known for making country artist Miranda Lambert's albums. On June 13, 2011, the lead-off single to Pickler's third album, 100 Proof, was released on January 24, 2012. The album debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200 and at number two on the Top Country Albums chart. On the Hot Country Songs chart, "though" reached its peak of number 30, while the album's title track, which was released as the second single in April 2012, debuted at number 50 on the same chart.

Pickler departed from Sony Nashville on June 27, 2012, according to ABC News Radio. "Kellie's deal with Sony came to an end, and they mutually agreed not to renew it," Pickler's boss told ABC News Radio. During the seventh inning stretch of the 2012 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, she sang "God Bless America" on July 10, 2012. Pickler was signed to CMT's independent record company Black River Entertainment as a result of October 8, 2012.

"Someone Somewhere Tonight," Pickler's first single with Black River Entertainment, "Someone Somewhere Tonight," was released on May 14, 2013. After eight weeks, it hit a peak of 49 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in July 2013, and appeared as the lead-off single on Pickler's fourth album, The Woman I Am, which was released on November 11, 2013. Pickler co-authored the title track with her partner, songwriter Kyle Jacobs.

The album's second and third singles, as well as peaks of number 50 and 59 on the Country Airplay chart, were announced, "Little Bit Gypsy" and "Closer to Nowhere." On June 2, 2015, a promotional single, "Feeling Tonight," was available as a digital download, but there was never been a formal radio broadcast. Pickler left Black River in June 2016, according to a post later this year.

Pickler and Derek Hough were crowned champions of the sixteenth season of Dancing with the Stars on May 21, 2013. She had a well-deserved freestyle, earning a perfect 30 and a lot of praise from the dance judges. In the seventeenth season's "Little Bit Gypsy" episode, she appeared on November 25, 2013.
