Christopher Pierre Janson was born in Perryville, Missouri, on September 28, 1985. After graduating high school, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee.

Janson co-wrote and recorded two duets with Holly Williams on her album "I Hold On" and "A Love I Believe Will Last" in June 2009. In April 2010, Janson signed to BNA Records in October 2009 and released his debut single, "Til a Woman Comes Along." Matt Bjorke of Roughstock gave the single a five-star rating, with his review lauding Janson's vocals as well as the arrangement. The album debuted at No. 84. The Billboard Hot Country Songs charts reached 56 on the week ending May 1, 2010.

Janson remained the brand after BNA was restructured. Tim McGraw's 2012 single "Truck Yeah," performed harmonica on Lee Brice's album "Beer" and wrote the title track to Justin Moore's 2013 album Off the Beaten Path.

He signed to Bigger Picture Music Group in 2013 and released "Better I Don't" in 2013. Janson wrote the song with his partner, Kelly and Pat Bunch, and Keith Stegall produced it. In mid-2013, "Better I Don't" hit the top of the Country Airplay chart, ranking at number 40. "Cut Me Some Slack," a second single from the Bigger Picture Company, reached number 60 before the company's closing in 2014. Columbia Records released "Take It to the Bank" and other songs that he had performed while on BNA that year.

In early 2015, Janson self-released the single "Buy Me a Boat." The album debuted at No. 1 on the charts. After receiving airplay on the Bobby Bones Show, 33 on Hot Country Songs was a hit on Hot Country Songs. It was announced as a single by Warner Bros. At No. 1, "Buy Me a Boat" topped the charts. 3 on Country Airplay and No. 1 on Mediabase. "Power of Positive Drinkin'" and "Holdin' Her" are also included on the album. Real Friends, a family of the United Kingdom, which also includes the top-one singles "Good Vibes" and "Done," is his forthcoming album. All In was a fourth Warner album that was commercially unsuccessful and did not make it to the album charts. Janson left Warner and signed with Big Machine Records in 2022 due to the company's demise.
