Karthi Life

Karthik Sivakumar (born 25 May 1977), better known by his stage name Karthi, is an Indian film actor who works predominantly in Tamil cinema. Karthi's younger brother, as well as actor Sivakumar, has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Crescent Engineering College India and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering, which he obtained in the United States.

He nevertheless aspired to be a film producer and so he came to India and joined Mani Ratnam as an assistant director. He appeared in and performed his acting debut in Paruthiveeran in 2007, as the title character, a careless village ruffian, receiving critical acclaim and several awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Actor and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award.

In Aayirathil Oruvan (2010), Selvaraghavan's adventure fantasy film directed by Selvaraghavan, his next role was that of a coolie.

He has had commercial success with his subsequent releases: Paiyaa (2010), Naan Mahaman Alla (2010), and Siruthai (2011). In addition to his film work, Karthi has been involved in social care, assisting others in their quest for happiness through the "Makkal Nala Mandram," a social welfare club he founded.

In 2011, he became a cause ambassador to raise the threat of lysosomal storage disease.

He is the treasurer of the Nadigar Sangam as of 2015.

Early life and family

Karthik Sivakumar was born in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India, on May 25, 1977. He completed his primary and secondary school education at Padma Seshadri Balavan and St. Bede's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Chennai. He obtained a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Crescent Engineering College in Chennai. After graduation, he worked as an Engineering consultant in Chennai and considered higher education abroad. "I was making over 5000 per month and found the job boring." In an interview, he recalled "I should do something more." Karthi obtained a scholarship for his higher education in the United States and enrolled in Binghamton University, New York, where he obtained his Master of Science degree in industrial engineering. He took elective courses on filmmaking while earning his master's degree.

Karthi worked as a part-time graphic designer during his stay in New York. He later decided to pursue a filmmaking degree at State University of New York; he took two courses in basic filmmaking. "I always knew I wanted to be in films, but I didn't know what I wanted to do," he said. I loved movies and watched a lot of them. However, my father insisted that I have a good education before I joined the film industry.

Personal life

Karthi is the second son of actor Sivakumar and his partner, Lakshmi. He has two siblings, including Suriya, who was already an established actor at the time of Karthi's debut, as well as younger sister Brindha, who is a Tamil cinema actor. The family's elders arranged the wedding. They have two children, a daughter, and a son.

Karthi Career

Acting career

When Karthi returned to Chennai, he met director Mani Ratnam and thought he might work as an assistant director because he wanted to become a film director and preferred acting over acting, but he did appear as an extra in Aayutha Ezhuthu. He continued to get acting calls and his dad convinced him to avoid acting, but "one can always direct films, but one will not be able to perform if you get older." In April 2005, he accepted his first acting role with Priyamani as the female lead. When director Ameer asked him to play the titular character in the film Paruthiveeran, he accepted because the film was "... so convincing." The filming started in July 2005 and was severely delayed until mid-2006, and was almost abandoned by mid-December. It was announced in January 2007 to critical acclaim and became extremely profitable.

Karthi's portrayal of a careless village ruffian was lauded unanimously by critics. "He has done away with every trace of sophistication in his body language and even treats the sickle with utmost ease," says the narrator. He comes out every inch a hot blooded youngster from some rural area of Tamil Nadu [and] appears to be seasoned in the romantic scenes. "Look out for this guy. "It's difficult to believe that it is Karthi's first film because he is just stunning," Sify said. His expressions, indignation, glee, and anguish are all so real that you can feel the heat in him. "Awesome," Rediff called his work, "one of the finest performances of 2007" he said. Karthi has been lauded for his work, including the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in Tamil.

Karthi completed his second project under Selvaraghavan's direction, Idhu Maalai Nerakkam, starring Sandhya as the female lead. "...sophistic upmarket trendy guy... "Karthi's character was "ethical, fashionable, trendy guy... " Selvaraghavan canceled the scheme in July 2007, but he revealed the development of Aayirathil Oruvan, starring Karthi. Filming began later this year and was scheduled to be finished by February 2008. In mid-2008, the designers had intended to release it in mid-2008, but production was delayed and filming continued until late 2009. In September 2007, he had promised to play the lead character in Linguswamy's next film Paiyaa. Paiyaa had to be postponed several times due to Ayirathil Oruvan's slow progress. He later said he became ill because he received several film offers, but he couldn't pursue them because he wanted to maintain his appearances' continuity. Producer R.Ravindran said during the filming of Aayirathil Oruvan that Karthi was trying to change his appearance and move to Paiyaa before ending his work.

In early 2010, Ayirathil Oruvan was first released. Karthi's portrayal of a chief coolie was often compared to that in his debut film. "... a scream," Sify described Karthi's appearance as "a scream." "Right from his introduction scene to the end, he is lovable and brings humour," he said. "He had a fantastic comeback... "," the singer announced.

Paiyaa of Linguswamy was released in April 2010. It was a hit on a romantic road trip film starring an album by Yuvan Shankar Raja. He portrayed a character that lives in a urban setting for the first time. He said he attended the film because he wanted to be a cool dude on film. Karthi's appearances in Ayirathil Oruvan and Paiyaa at the 58th Filmfare Awards South in the Best Actor category gained him further recognition. Both films were successful as Yuganiki Okkadu and Aawara.

Suseenthiran's third film in 2010 was Naan Mahaan Alla, in which he played a middle-class boy from Chennai whose life is interrupted when his father is assaulted by a gang of killers. It received good reviews, was extremely popular, and analysts lauded Karthi's performance. "[Karthi] nails the character to perfection," Sreedhar Pillai wrote for Sify. This is a good reason to see the film. "What a joy to see Karthi put on his best show to date," Bhama Devi Ravi of Times of India wrote. "Karthi has simply had a ball," Rediff said, "It's been a long time since an actor who can be both convincing in sadness and rage as well as in joy." Naan Mahaan Alla was dubbed into Telugu and released as Naa Peru Shiva in 2011; it was a huge success, and earned Karthi some Telugu films.

Karthi's next film was "Action-Masala Siruthai (2011), a remake of the 2006 Telugu film Vikramarkudu. He appeared in two different capacities: a robber and a police officer. Karthi's appearances received rave reviews. "Karthi looks and performs better with every film," Madathi Rangarajan of The Hindu wrote. "Siruthai expounds the claim." "But the film belongs to Rocket Raja (Karthy)," Pavithra Srinivasan of Rediff wrote, "but the film's ostensible ruffian Tamil cinema has been missing for a long time." He chooses pockets, slices off handbags, charms women, and even bashes (!) They went up without a single jolt to his conscience." Despite receiving mixed critical feedback, the film met financial success, becoming one of the top-grossing Tamil films of 2011. Siruthai was Karthi's biggest commercial success in 2011, cementing his place in Tamil cinema. "Kobe is one of the hottest actors in Kollywood," Sify said. He appeared in a song in K. V. Anand's Ko (2011), as well as other leading Tamil actors.

In May 2011, Karthi began to appear in the political comedy film Saguni, directed by Shankar Dayal and starring him in a cast of supporting actors. In the film, he played Kamalakannan, a villager who comes to Karaikudi to save his palatial home from being destroyed for a politician's personal gain and unknowingly transforms into a kingmaker. Critics were split on the film's opening, but it became a box office setback. Karthi dubbed for himself for the Telugu version of Saguni (2012) and later dubbed for the Telugu dubbed versions of all of his films. Alex Pandian, the opposite Anushka Shetty, was released later in the 2013 Pongal release, prompting a hostile reaction from the public.

Rajesh M's All in All Azhagu Raja, Karthi's next release, starred him against Kajal Aggarwal and Santhanam. The film was released on Diwali 2013 and received mostly critical feedback from critics, including Behindwoods' "While the joking about a few moments, including Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and Boss Engira Bhaskaran, but it falls way short," Said Sify, "The issue with All in All Azhagu Raja is that it lacks basic story line and took the viewers for granted." There is no such script to speak of in this film, but it does have at least a skeletal plot." Venkat Prabhu's Biriyani, his second film, received rave reviews and became a box office hit. Under Yuvan Shankar Raja's direction, he also performed "Mississippi." Karthi appeared in Pa. Ranjith's Madras, a critical and commercial success in 2014. Komban's next release was in 2015. Oopiri / Thozha, Telugu-Tamil bilingual film, was his first film release in 2016. The film received rave reviews. Karthi's performance was also lauded, with Baradwaj Rangan of The Hindu saying (in his review of Thozha's Tamil version) stating, "At a time when every leading man (including Karthi) appears to be participating in a game show named "Who Wants To Be The Next Rajinikanth?" (in the Tamil version of the Tamil version). We see that character actors are all the time trying to become larger-than-life heroes. Here's a hero scaling himself down to play a life-sized role for a change. Karthi appeared in director Gokul's Kaashmora later this year. Despite mixed feedback, the film's success was lauded.

Kaatru Veliyidai of Karthi was directed and produced by Mani Ratnam. The film received mixed reviews and became a failure. Dream Warrior Pictures produced Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru of Karthi. Karthi was nominated for his contribution to the South of France's Best Actor – Critics award. The film was a huge hit at the box office. Right after Theeran Karthi performed in Kadaikutty Singam, Pandiraj's role as a farmer led by Pandiraj, which has been produced by this brother Suriya, which has had the highest footfalls in Tamil Nadu in the year 2018. Prince Pictures' debutante director Rajath Ravishankar directed Dev, music composed by Harris Jayaraj, and R.Velraj handles the camera. Critics were dismissive of the film's progress, and it became a commercial failure.

Deepawali was born in the same year as Kaithi, a blockbuster hit the postal industry, grossing more than one billion dollars. Kaithi was the highest grosser in his career. He was last seen in Sulthan, directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan. Rashmika Mandanna appears in the film as the lead. The film received a favorable review and became a box-office hit.

M. Muthaiah's second film collaboration with the producer followed him next. Viruman turned out to be very profitable in the corporate market. Karthi was seen in Magnum Opus Ponniyin Selvan directed by Mani Ratnam after Viruman. In that film, Karthi will portray Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan, and it is the actor's first Pan-Indian film. In Sardar's 2022 film In Sardar's release as father and son, the actor will appear as both father and son.
