Jennifer Joanne Metcalfe (born 4 September 1983) is an English actress best known for her appearance in Mercedes McQueen's role in Hollyoaks since 2006.
Metcalfe has also appeared on the spin off show Hollyoaks Later, as Mercedes, between 2008 and 2012.
Metcalfe also participated in the sixth series of Dancing on Ice.
Early life
Metcalfe was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, and grew up on the Holme Wood housing estate. She attended the Scala Kids drama academy in her hometown. Metcalfe worked as a fitness instructor in Bradford in between acting roles.
Personal life
Metcalfe revealed her first pregnancy in February 2017 to former Geordie Shore actress Greg Lake. On June 20, 2017, she gave birth to a son, whom she referred to as Daye Colmic Lake. Metcalfe and Lake split in 2020.

Career
Metcalfe appeared in many television shows, including the children's television series My Parents Are Aliens and the ITV dramas Where The Heart Is, At Home With the Braithwaites, and soap opera Emmerdale appeared in her early roles.
Metcalfe's breakthrough role came in 2006, when she was cast as Mercedes McQueen in Channel 4's soap opera Hollyoaks. Claire Devine had been considered a candidate for the role before her character was developed. Metcalfe was the first actress to be cast in executive producer Bryan Kirkwood's soap.
Hollyoaks has resulted in her appearance in the late-night spin-off series Hollyoaks Later, her first appearance in the first series in 2008. In April 2010, it was announced in April 2010 that she would return to the series for the third time later this year and that she would reprise the role for series 4 and 5. Despite the show ending in 2013, Metcalfe's one-off special was televised in 2020, with Metcalfe returning in a key role.
Metcalfe will compete in the sixth series of ITV winter sports competition Dancing on Ice, which will be broadcast on December 19th. She was partnered with Sylvain Longchambon and was the seventh celebrity to be barred from the competition, after finishing in the bottom two of the leaderboard along with fellow contestant Vanilla Ice, who was saved by the judging panel.
Metcalfe left Hollyoaks in August 2014. Her character seemed to have been killed off on 18 November, leaving Metcalfe for a brief period in February 2015, where it was announced that she would return on a permanent basis;
