Personal life
Ghawam-Shahidi was born to an Iranian father and an English mother and grew up in Whalley Range in Manchester. She went vegan at the age of eight and a vegetarian at 21. She is married to Arsher Ali. They have one child together in 2018.
Shahidi has established a Yoga Lunch Club in Hockley, Greater Nottingham's Creative Quarter, where she is also based. She also has a YouTube channel to post yoga videos.
Career
Shahidi started her work with Contact Young Actors Company in 2004 and went on to work with Peskar Productions as a drama workshop leader in Oldham and Bolton.
