Beverley Jane McEwan (née Moxon, Sowden, and Callard, born 28 March 1957) is an English actress best known for her appearance in ITV's Coronation Street and a Packet of Crisps.
Personal life
Callard, a 16-year-old boy who later became pregnant, married Paul Atkinson in 1974. She later miscarried. Rebecca Callard, a daughter who later became an actress, was the couple's first child two years ago. The couple divorced a year later, with Callard later stating, "we were too young." He had an alcohol-fueled violent personality."
Callard married David Sowden, an economics professor, in 1980. Callard had an abortion during his marriage. The two couples were adamantly divorced in 1988. Callard was pregnant in 1989 to Steve Callard, and the pair married. Joshua was their son when he was born in 1990. Career
Callard made her acting debut as Darius the page child at the age of seven. She began working as a shorthand typist after graduating from high school in 1973. Jackie Coryton, a young actress who performed in No.l Coward's Hay Fever, Liz and Rita, as Dorothy Coryton in Billy Liar and The Wicked Queen in Snow White, later returned to acting and appeared on stage as Jackie Coryton. Callard made her television debut (as Beverley Sowden) in the Yorkshire television soap Emmerdale Farm as Angie Richards in 1983.
