Jeff Rosenstock Career

Career

Rosenstock formed The Arrogant Sons of Bitches (ASOB) in 1995, when he and his colleague Joe Werfelman refused to attend a friend's funeral due to feelings of anxiety, but instead spent the day playing Green Day covers. Rosenstock recorded a DIY solo song under the moniker Bomb the Music Industry in 2004, which evolved into his next musical project. Bomb the Music Industry began to be known for its DIY punk ethics and dedication to accessibility, earning the reputation as "the Fugazi for punk" in the internet age. Following the introduction of Bomb the Music Industry's first full-length album, Rosenstock founded Quote Unquote Records, the first donation-based record label, which started off distributing all the label's albums digitally using a pay what you want system.

Rosenstock began his solo career in 2012 by announcing his first solo "mixtape" I Look Like Shit two months after Bomb the Music Industry was announced. They had already declared their intention to break up. The Summer Seven Club initiative in 2013 included exclusive access to new songs that were not released for at least six months. All the songs from Summer Seven Club were later collected and released on the Summer + compilation album. We Cool?, Rosenstock's first studio album as a solo artist, was released in 2015. Worry, his second solo album, was released on October 14, 2016. Rosenstock's third studio album Post-with-ten tracks was released in January 2018. No Dream, his fourth studio album, was announced on May 20, 2020. On April 20, 2021, a ska version of No Dream, dubbed Ska Dream, was released.

Rosenstock has appeared with many other ska and punk rock bands, including Mustard Plug, The Bruce Lee Band, and AJJ. He has appeared in his Bomb the Music Industry as a performer. Laura Stevenson and Lee Hartney, two of the bandmates, were born in Perth, Ireland. Tom Waits, Pulp, and The Beach Boys are just some of his musical influences.

Mikey Erg, The Smith Street Band, Laura Stevenson, and Dan Andriano have all performed as a producer. He is also a member of Antarctivo Vespucci, a joint venture between himself and Fake Problems frontman Chris Farren. He has also been a member of Bruce Lee Band since 2014, alongside Asian Man Records founder Mike Park.

Rosenstock has composed music for the Cartoon Network series Craig of the Creek since 2018. On their 2019 live album Thanks, Sorry! In 2020, the first full musical episode of the show was released, with Rosenstock composing all of the songs and lyrics; the album was released later this year.

Superviolet's Steve Ciolek Is Doing It Different Now

www.mtv.com, April 19, 2023
Steve Ciolek will assist you with the nerve pain shooting in your leg. During the 15 years he spent touring with his band The Sidekicks, his mates would inquire about aches and pains onstage or in the van. Ciolek, a singer and guitarist, was born from a family of physical therapists whose services were only a call away. Ciolek says, "Pain and the way you feel can be very debilitating." "Physical therapists have this knowledge of the body and what kinds of emotions are harmful to feel and what behaviors you can push through." It's a lot more psychologically aware than I expected."

Bop Shop: Songs From Avril Lavigne And Machine Gun Kelly, Haim, And More

www.mtv.com, March 4, 2022
It's difficult to find the elusive "bop" that has been on display for the rest of his life. Playlists and streaming-service recommendations can only do so much. They often leave a lingering question: Are these songs really good, or are they just new? Visit Bop Shop, a hand-picked collection of songs from the MTV News staff. This weekly collection isn't limited by genre and can include anything; it's a snapshot of what's on our minds and what sounds good. We'll keep it fresh with the latest hits, but we'll still get a few oldies (but goodies) every once in a while. Prepare: The Bop Shop is now open for business.
