Jeannie Camtu Mai (born January 4, 1979) is an American television presenter, stylist, and show host.

She is best known for her appearances on How Does It Look?, USA's Character Fantasy, and The Real, a syndicated talk show.

She has been frequently featured on television shows and networks such as NBC's Today Show on the "Fashion Tips Today" segment, Extra TV, Entertainment Tonight, Insider, and E! as a fashion specialist. The Miss Universe pageant and entertainment as well as the Miss Universe pageant.

Early life

Jeannie Mai was born and raised in San Jose, California, with Vietnamese mother Olivia and James, as a Chinese father. She attended Milpitas High School.

Personal life

Mai is a Christian. Freddy Harteis married her on August 11, 2007, but the couple divorced in December 2018.

Jay "Jeezy" Jenkins, a female rapper, appeared on Maid in November 2018. In 2021, the couple married in a personal ceremony at their Atlanta, Georgia home. The couple announced their baby girl in January 2022.

Mai started working in San Jose at the age of 18, launching her career as a makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics. She went from face to face before being able to work for celebrities such as Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys. She went on to appear on MTV's Total Request Live, KCAL Los Angeles, and Good Day Sacramento, as a celebrity makeup stylist.

Mai began to audition for local television stations with self-written scripts in 2003 to showcase her hosting skills. On the International Channel, she was recruited to co-host Stir, an Asian-American magazine-style show. Later, the San Francisco-based California Music Channel recruited her to host her own music countdown. Mai went on to become a television journalist and producer of the WB's The Daily Mixx.

Mai landed her first primetime hosting position on Character Fantasy on the USA Network in 2005, where she encouraged guests to live their fantasies each week. Following this, she migrated to Los Angeles to appear on MTV's Granted alongside Frankie Muniz and hosted segments relating to fashion and entertainment news on networks such as E!, Lifetime, TLC, and NBC's talk morning show Today. On TLC's '10 Years Younger, she began to appear as a member of the beauty squad. Miss America Reality Check, Mai's 2008, was a TLC show on TLC. She appeared in the makeover film Where's Your Style, as well as being a spokesperson for the cosmetics Never Accept Ordinary. How Does This Look? - Mai's first appearance on Style Network's fashion makeover show How Does It Look? In addition, she served as a reporter and weekend host on NBC's Extra TV with Mario Lopez. Mai was the resident contributor to Perez Hilton's fashion website Cocoperez.com. Mai began judging the Miss Universe pageant in 2011 and was a fashion consultant on the NBC weight loss competition The Biggest Loser. In addition, Mai was the fashion reporter for NBC's Fashion Star, and she hosted the stylist competition The Next Style Star from Maker Studios. She appeared as a guest judge on Asia's Next Top Model, Cycle 1.

Mai was the host of a live weekly show called Style Pop on the Style Network in 2013. Mai has been a co-host of the syndicated daytime talk show The Real, co-produced by Adrienne Bailon, Tamar Braxton, Loni Love, and Tamera Mowry, which premiered on July 15, 2013. Following a rough summer on the Fox Television Stations group in 2013, it was scheduled to appear the following year. Mai and her co-hosts received the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for their contributions in 2018. Mai, the host of the reality competition Steampunk'd on GSN in 2015, was Mai. On Entertainment Tonight, she appeared as a fashion reporter.

How Does It Look? appeared on her show in 2016. DivaNet, Asia's largest network. On the American game show The Joker's Wild, she portrayed Lady Luck. Mai has also worked for ReimagineMyself.com, a website that helps people with relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS) to reimagine life with the chronic illness.

Mai was unveiled on September 2, 2020, as one of the celebrities to be competing on the 29th season of Dancing with the Stars. After being diagnosed with epiglottitis, an inflammatory disease that can cause swelling and block airflow to the lungs, she was forced to leave the show on November 2, 2020.
