She is best known for her appearances on How Does It Look?, USA's Character Fantasy, and The Real, a syndicated talk show.

Early life

Career
Mai started working in San Jose at the age of 18, launching her career as a makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics. She went from face to face before being able to work for celebrities such as Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys. She went on to appear on MTV's Total Request Live, KCAL Los Angeles, and Good Day Sacramento, as a celebrity makeup stylist.
Mai began to audition for local television stations with self-written scripts in 2003 to showcase her hosting skills. On the International Channel, she was recruited to co-host Stir, an Asian-American magazine-style show. Later, the San Francisco-based California Music Channel recruited her to host her own music countdown. Mai went on to become a television journalist and producer of the WB's The Daily Mixx.
Mai landed her first primetime hosting position on Character Fantasy on the USA Network in 2005, where she encouraged guests to live their fantasies each week.
