Waterparks, an American rock band, was formed in Houston, Texas, in 2011.

The band currently has three EPs, two of which were released separately, and drummer Otto Wood was led vocalist and lead guitarist Geoff Wigington.

On November 4, 2016, the group released its first full-length album, Double Dare, via Equal Vision, and later that year, Entertainment Under the same brand, on January 26, 2018.

The band announced on May 23, 2019 that they had left Equal Vision and was now signed with Hopeless.

On October 11, 2019, their third full-length album, Fandom, was announced.

Early years and EPs (2011–2016)

Awsten Knight and Gage Matthieu, who met while playing in various bands in 2011, formed the group in 2011. Owen Marvin, guitarist Tommy Denley, and briefly, keyboardist Tyler Comer joined the band later. This lineup was quickly dissipated soon after the band's first appearance. Airplane Conversations, the band's first EP, was released on April 3, 2012, and it was the only one with Matthieu and Marvin before the band members left the band in 2012. Following the departures of the previous members, guitarist Geoff Wigington and drummer Otto Wood joined the band the following year. Invent, Animate, DWHB, and Life as Lions were among the band's first shows on August 17, 2012. Over the years, the band appeared at various venues around Texas. On May 11, 2013, the band opened his Houston tour date as a support act for pop musician Aaron Carter. Black Light, the band's second EP, was announced on June 5, 2014. In 2013, and 2015, the band appeared on both the Warped Tour's Houston dates in Houston.

The band Untitled Vision Records was released on November 6, 2015. Benji Madden and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte were the band's managers after looking for developers. Cluster, Benji Madden's co-produced EP, was released on January 15, 2016. For the EP, Mikey Way, the bassist of My Chemical Romance, appeared on My Chemical Romance's bassist, performed bass. During the band's comeback appearance at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, California, on November 19, 2015, the band performed with Good Charlotte.

On the Black Cat Tour in 2016 and every day of the 2016 Warped Tour, the group performed supporting Never Shout Never. In late 2016, the band embarked on the End The Madness Tour, which included Sleeping With Sirens.

In promotion of its debut album, Double Dare, the group released a single titled "Stupid For You" on August 31, 2016. "Hawaii (Stay Awake)" and "Royal") followed shortly, before the album's release on November 4, 2016. On a 30th anniversary covers album for Green Day, the band performed a cover of Hitchin' a Ride by Green Day on a Green Day's 25th anniversary covers album, Green Day: American Superhits! In 2017, "Gloom Boys" was released as the album's fourth and final single.

On All Time Low's tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland, the band appeared with SWMRS and The Wrecks as supporting acts. The groups reunited later this summer for the Young Renegades Tour, this time touring the United States. On the tour's Dallas and Houston dates, the Night Riots performed in place of SWMRS.

Entertainment, the band's second studio album, was released on October 20, 2017, with a release date of January 26, 2018. The band's first single, "Blonde," was released alongside Entertainment's, with the album's name. The band's second single, "Lucky People," was released on December 13, 2017. "Not Warriors" was released by Waterparks on January 17, 2018. Equal Vision unveiled the album on January 26, 2018. At No. 1, entertainment reached its peak. On February 10, 2018, the Billboard 200 chart ranked 98 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The band performed a cover of "Beating Heart Baby" by Head Automatica in 2019 and was featured on Rock Sound's covers album Worship And Tributes: Volume II. The band's first single off of their at the time, third album, "Turbulent" was released on May 23, 2019. They had also signed to Hopeless Records, which was also revealed on the album's name. The band's second single, "Watch What Happens Next," was released on August 12, 2019, alongside a music video and the announcement of the album's release on October 11, 2019. The band's third single, "Dream Boy," was released on August 16, 2019, as well as a music video. "Reboot]," the fourth single on September 12, 2019 was announced on September 12, 2019. They released "High Definition," their fifth single for the album, as well as a music video on September 25, 2019. Fandom, the band's third studio album, was released on October 11, 2019. "Easy to Hate" was released as the sixth single on October 17, 2019, as well as a music video.

Awsten Knight, a frontman from Awsten Knight, announced on Twitter on January 22, 2020, that if a particular tweet was retweeted 20,000 times, he'd release a new Waterparks album that day. Knight was able to launch 1 (A Collection of Unreleased Home Demos, This Is Not G, or Even an Album, Shut Up Enjoy), a demo album made up of unreleased Waterparks demos, some of which were "Lemonade," "Noise," and "Glitter Times," which Knight later revealed on his Instagram. He claims that in the song "Life Is Puke (20,000)" he says he never thought the tweet would bring so many retweets and that "everyone is so mad at me."

On January 27, 2020, the band appeared at the O2 Academy in Birmingham, England, during the Fandom festival, announcing that the performance would be taped and released as a live album with a companion concert film that summer. The COVID-19 pandemic delayed its publication until the fall, and Fandom: Live in the United Kingdom was officially announced on November 27, 2020, officially marking the end of the Fandom period.

The band officially launched "Lowkey As Hell" on September 24, 2020. Knight leaked the song on a live stream the previous week, but he wasn't sure about his Fandom-era green hair himself. Following the band's official launch, record label 300 Entertainment revealed that they had signed the band.

The band's fourth studio album Greatest Hits, as well as the debut of a new single titled "Snow Globe," on February 25, 2021. The album was released on May 21, 2021. On March 29, 2021, the first single, "Numb," was released, but during the Anti Tour Exhibition, it was unveiled on March 27, 2021. On April 28, 2021, Awsten Knight's fourth single, "You'd Be Paranoid Too" (If Everyone Was Out To Get You), was released, revealing its title with an autobiography. On May 12, 2021, the fifth single, "Just Kidding," was released.

"I was published on May 19, 2021, and was titled "Star Trek." On May 26, 2021, a music video for the song was released.

The band unveiled teasers for their forthcoming fifth studio album on January 27, 2022. "Funeral Grey," the first single by George Grey, was announced on April 7, 2022, and it was then released on May 13 as their first release under Fueled by Ramen. In episode three of the British television series Heartstopper, the band's song "telephone," from their 2019 album Fandom, was included. The band's second single, "Self-Sabotage," will be released on July 7, 2022. In addition, the band has posted a preview of a new song titled "Brainwashed" that the band has been performing on tour. The band's "self-Sabotage" music video was released on August 8, 2022. The band's single "Fuck About It" starring Blackbear debuted on October 14, 2022.
