Gary Holt Life

Gary Wayne Holt (born May 4, 1964) is an American guitarist from the San Francisco Bay Area.

He is a guitarist, the bandleader, and the lead songwriter for the American thrash metal band Exodus, and he has served on Slayer from 2011 to 2019. Replaces Slayer's original guitarist Jeff Hanneman is a member of Exodus.

Personal life

Holt is a huge fan of foreign and period films outside of music.

According to Holt, the track "War Is My Shepherd" on the album Tempo of the Damned is a titorial about America's "Pro-God" and "war" stance, as well as how the two faiths are incompatible with each other.

In the 2008 presidential race, Holt endorsed Barack Obama, saying, "I used to have a lot of respect for McCain, but after the humiliating loss that he suffered at the hands of George W. Bush in the South Carolina primary, he can only be elected if he plays the Karl Rove tactic b.s." He's doing it. It's just one debunked lie after the other. He's the kind of guy who's telling you the sky is red, you look up, and it's blue, and he will not admit to knowing he's wrong. He's playing dirty politics. Palin's description of this lady as a heart attack away from having the nuclear codes is frightening. She's wild and she's dumb."

Holt argued for John Kerry in the 2004 race but later revealed that "they're all dirty crooks, all politicians." However, at least (Kerry) wasn't a coward. He served in Vietnam, but George W. Bush Jr. was a draft evader."

He referred to President Donald Trump as a "serial liar" and a "embarrassment to this nation, this world, and everybody who lives in it."

Holt is an atheist. He became a vegan in October 2017.

Billie Charles Holt, a father who was born on July 6, 1933, died on December 17, 2018.

Holt first noticed signs of COVID-19 on March 18, 2020. He had tested positive for the virus by March 31, 2020, but by then he had already recovered.
