Ganesh Career

Career

Ganesh began his career as an actor in numerous television series and a tele-film that has not been announced to date. He then landed up as show host for a comedy talk-show called Comedy Time, which aired on Udaya TV. Director B. Suresha, who directed him for the film Tapori (2002) as a villain, praised his role in the film. He continued as a supporting actor until he was cast in the leading role in the film Mungaru Male (2006).

Guttu was Ganesh's first on-camera project. Despite being made as a telefilm in Karnataka, it became impossible to air a timeslot, and the irritable producers made it a hit in festivals and select theaters in the United States. Deepak, a helpless software systems analyst who is immersed in an NRI woman (played by Chaya Singh) who visits India to try and re-trace her family roots, was played by Ganesh. In this first role, his comedic ability and timing demonstrated himself.

He appeared in several TV serials, including Yadva Tadva, Vataara (directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar) and Pa Pa Pandu (directed by Sihi Chandru).

He popularized the TV show Comedy Time as a television artist. On Udaya TV from Monday to Friday, the show was televised from 5:00-5:00 p.m. in the beginning and then at 5:30-6:00 p.m. Viewers would write a letter to the anchor describing their families and indicating their telephone number. The anchor would dial their number, shaming themselves and fooling them. In the interim, after reading each letter, a comedy scene from a pick Kannada film was telecast. His unique way of greeting the viewers at the start and end of the program was very popular, especially with children.

Following the success of this television series, fans began to call him "Comedy Time" Ganesh.

Guttu, an Indian film producer who came to India with the intention of breaking into the Indian film industry, was his first film. Priyabharati offered Ganesh Guttu just as he was about to graduate from Adarsh Film Institute, against the advice of industry insiders who sluggishly discounted her pick of a newcomer. Guttu was Ganesh's first exposure to film before he moved onto television and then to feature films. He began his career as a background actor, especially in the role of the lead character's companion in a few films.

In the film Tapori (2002), directed by B. M. Suresha, his first feature film role was of a villain character. "The hero was supposed to hit on the face and blow so hard that (his) nose began bleeding," portrayed the character by Portraying the story. He appeared in three films, one of which M. D. Sridhar's Game For Love was a hit, despite the fact that the other two went under-performed at the box-office. He appeared in films including Dayal Padmanabhan's Baa Baaro (2004) and Nagathilawan's Amrithadhare (2005), which also starred Amitabh Bachchan, and appeared in films such as Dayal Padmanabhan's Baa Baaro (2004) and Nagayan, Ramya, which also starred Amitabh Bachchan.

Chellata, Ganesh's first feature wide-release film, was a modest success and ran up to 125 days in some theaters. In this film, Rekha Vedavyas, who had already appeared in a few films, starred Ganesh.

Then came the 2006 film Mungaru Male, which was a huge hit. Yogaraj Bhat produced the film. Ganesh had been involved in the scripting process and was interested in acting in the film. He brought director Bhat to see E. Krishnappa. Since Krishnappa knew Ganesh (both hail from Adakamaranahalli, Nelamangala), he decided to fund the film. Since Yogaraj Bhat could not get dates from any Kannada actress, he signed Pooja Gandhi, a little known actress. Jayant Kaikini wrote the film's lyrics, and Mano Murthy, a part-time music producer, composed the film's soundtrack. Jayant Kaikini, son of renowned writer Late Gourish Kaikini, was a well-known columnist and writer. The film was mainly shot during the rainy season in Madikeri, Sakaleshpura, Jog Falls, and Gadag. Pooja Gandhi, the Mungaru Male fame, starred in a Krishna film on 2007, completing 100-days in Karnataka's main centers.

Hudugaata, his third film as hero, was released on June 8, 2007. He has directed Cheluvina Chithara (2007), Gaalipata (2008), Aramane (2007), Sangama (2008), Bella Atthara (2010), Circus (2009), Kunja (2011), Shravani Subramanya (2012), Sakath (2021) and Gaalipata 2 (2022) among his films.

Ganesh was appointed as the Brand Ambassador of Reliance Mobile (2009-2011), Coca-Cola (2010-2011), a Coca-Cola (2022) product.
