Personal life
Greenwell was born in Greenwich, Connecticut, to a French mother and an English father. Before her second birthday, the family returned to London's South Kensington neighborhood. She studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art for a year. Greenwell said it was fine, but it made her realise she didn't want to go to drama school before trying her luck at a pilot season in Los Angeles, California. Shameless, the Emmy Award-winning Showtime drama, was her first job. When she was 22 years old, she booked it. She had been planning on returning to London a year before. Because she did not return to London for nine months, Booking Shameless compelled her to rent a car and find an apartment.
