Nathalie Joanne Emmanuel (born 2 March 1989) is an English actress.
Emmanuel began her acting career in the late 1990s, appearing in various West End productions, including the musical The Lion King.
She began her on-screen career in 2006 by playing Sasha Valentine in soap opera Hollyoaks, after which she appeared in several British television series until her debut film appearance in Twenty8k.
Emmanuel won international attention for her role as Missandei in HBO's Game of Thrones (2013–2019), as well as supporting roles in action films Maze Runner (2015) and Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018).
Early life
Emmanuel was born in Southend-on-Sea, England's second largest seaside resort town, on March 2, 1989. Her mother is Dominican, and her father is of half-Saint Lucian and half English descent. She has an older sister. Emmanuel recalled that her mother first noticed her passion and aspiration to be an actress during Emmanuel's attendance at the prestigious St Hilda's School, which closed in 2014 and then the Westcliff High School for Girls grammar school.
