Club career
Ederson, a native of Osasco, S. Paulo, began his football career in 2008 with local team So Paulo FC, where he spent one season before joining Benfica in Portugal. He spent two years as a junior before moving to Ribeiro in 2011. He joined Rio Ave. in Primeira Liga a year later. He officially signed a Rio Ave. deal in summer 2012. Following a string of good performances and a call to the Brazil under-23 squad, he agreed to a new deal with the club that would run until 2014.
Ederson returned to Portugal on June 27, 2015, defeating Benfica for the first time.
