Club career

Sidibé plays as a full back but can also be useful in midfield. He started his career at Troyes, his hometown club, in 2000, at the age of eight. Sidibé made his club debut in the 2009–10 season while the club was playing in the Championnat National, France's third division. In a league match against Grenoble on September 17, 2010, he made his professional debut on September 17, 2010.

After helping earn Troyes promotion to Ligue 1, the 19-year-old joined Lille in July 2012 as cover for Mathieu Debuchy. Sidibé made his Ligue 1 debut against OGC Nice on August 25, 2012, his first appearance in the league, and he celebrated it with a goal, scoring a 59' minute equalizer in a 2–2 draw. Sidibé, a long-angled striker in Lille's 2012-13 UEFA Champions League group stage matchday 5 match against BATE Borisov in Minsk on November 20th, helped Lille avenge their 3–1 matchday 1 home loss to BATE Borisov by scoring from a long angled strike in the first half. In the second half of Sidibé's second bookable attack, the team was disqualified, but Lille won by 2–0, securing their only points of their 2012-13 UEFA Champions League group stage campaign.

In the 2016 Coupe de la Ligue Final, Sidibé scored Lille's equalizing goal against Paris Saint-Germain; however, PSG won the match 2–1.

Sidibé joined Monaco on a five-year contract on July 8, 2016. Sidibé scored Monaco's first goal in the 48th minute in the 53rd minute and gave Monaco the opportunity to face Tottenham Hotspur 2–1 at home on November 22nd.

Sidibé's first season with Monaco saw him play a key role in the team winning the Ligue 1 title for the first time in 17 years, and he was named to the UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Year.

Sidibé joined Everton on a season-long loan on August 7th; the agreement also included the option to make the move permanent at the end of the loan.

Sidibé joined Greek Super League side AEK Athens on a two-year contract on September 9, 2022.

International career

Sidibé was on standby for France's UEFA Euro 2016 squad.

Sidibé was called up to the senior squad for the first time against Italy and a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification against Belarus on August 25th. On September 1, he made his debut against the former at the Stadio San Nicola, winning by a 3–1 margin.

In France's 3–2 friendly victory over England on June 13, 2017, Sidibé scored his first goal for the country.

He was called up to the 23-man French squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia on May 17.
