Crystle Lightning Life

Crystle Lea Lightning (born February 5, 1981) is a Canadian-American actress and singer based in Studio City, California, who is best known for her roles as a film actress, an MC with the hip hop group LightningCloud, and DJ.

Crystle's dedicated electro house DJ, joined by her live show partner, MC RedCloud, has migrated from the booth to the center stage mic.

Together with RedCloud's long-time musical collaborator, DJ Hydroe, the pair created and recorded their latest collaborative work LightningCloud (2012).

Lightning's obsession with electro house music softens RedCloud's underground hip hop edge on this album, which represents their musical interests.

The LightningCloud crew is now expanding their audience base with tight, high-energy live performances. LightningCloud made their self-titled debut in 2012 to critical acclaim.

"A near-earth object inventing new dimensions of the Electro-House-Hop revolution on the planet," Sam Slovik of the Los Angeles Times described the company as "a near-earth object inventing new realms of the Electro-House-Hop revolution."

MC RedCloud and Crystle Lightning are L.A.'s subterranean Bonnie and Clyde," Urban futurist[s]. In November 2012, the Aboriginal People's Choice Music Awards (APCMA) honoured the group for Best Hip Hop Album.

LightningCloud defeated the best MCs in Southern California to win the "Who's Next: Battle for the Best" contest on the top hip hop station in the United States in 2013, Power 106.

LightningCloud received a cash award, a Kendrick Lamar appearance, and the honor of representing the best of west coast hip hop against Hot 97's Brooklyn-based, east coast representative Radamiz in a freestyle battle in Austin, Texas, on March 15, 2013.

LightningCloud was given the opportunity to collaborate with Timbaland in the recording studio after winning the MC battle.
