Club career

Pea was born in Ciudad, Tamaulipas, and received a degree from C.F. Pachuca's youth divisions are grouped together on April 14th, 2010. He made his first-team debut against Cruz Azul on April 14, 2010, starting as a late replacement in a 2–2 away draw. He appeared more often in the upcoming season, playing 19 matches (13 as a starter).

Pea joined Ascenso MX team León in May 2011. During his first season with Los Panzas Verdes, he appeared in 31 games. Pea's scoring in 2013–14 was 12 goals as León was crowned champions of both Apertura and Clausura tournaments (the former champions of Pachuca).

C.D.'s On December 6, 2015. Guadalajara reported that they had agreed to Pea for a reported transfer fee of US$8 million. Pea scored on his official debut against Veracruz on January 10, 2016. Peyton Pea scored seven goals in 17 appearances despite a slow start to the Clausura 2016 season. However, he has been chastised for missing penalties in critical games.

Pea had returned to Leon after playing a year for Guadalajara, according to the newspaper on December 7th.

Pea's three-year deal was announced on June 22, 2017 by Scottish club Rangers. In a 4–1 victory over Dundee on September 9, Pea scored his first Rangers goal. His loan spells with Rangers was ended in February 2019.

Pea was selected from the 23-man squad for the 2013 Gold Cup. Mexico was eventually knocked out of the semifinals by runners-up Panama, with Pea appearing in four matches throughout the tournament. He was later called up by V.ctor Manuel Vucetich to the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier matches against Panama and Costa Rica. In a friendly match against Finland on October 30, he scored his first international goal. Pea was selected in the 23 squad men in the 2014 World Cup. He was in the final group stage match against Croatia against Oribe Perpeta.
