Alan Pulido Career

Club career

Pulido made his debut with Tigres UANL in a professional tournament in 2009, playing the entire game against Major League Soccer team Chivas USA, winning 2–1. Following a 1–1 draw, Tigres UANL will qualify for the final against Chicago Fire, winning 4–3 on penalties.

Pulido made his Primera División debut on February 27, 2010, serving as a replacement after the game broke at 0:3 against Monarcas Morelia. In the 4–2 victory over Pachuca at the Estadio Universitario, he scored his first league goal on April 13th.

Pulido scored his third goal in the 2011 Apertura Final against Santos Laguna, winning his first league title and securing the team's third title in more than 30 years. Pulido was limited to a substitute role throughout the tournament, behind first-choice striker Héctor Mancilla, who received little playing time.

He was a pivotal piece in the club's win of the Clausura 2014 Copa MX, where he finished as the tournament's best scorer, scoring 11 times in ten matches.

Pulido was supposed to rejoin Tigres for the forthcoming 2014 Apertura tournament after being on the Mexico national football team at the 2014 World Cup. Pulido said that his deal with Tigres had ended and he was now a free agent, despite club staff's assertion that Pulido had signed a contract extension that would keep him with the club until June 2016. Pulido did not attend any of the club's pre-season training sessions, was cut from the first team and sent to train with the reserves as a result, with Pulido also struggling to attend the training sessions. He did not participate in the Apertura tournament later on.

Pulido and his aide launched a court fight against Tigres in November of this year, arguing that the signature on the contract's addendum was falsified. The Federation ultimately ruled in favour of Tigres, although another lawsuit was lodged against the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Pulido had signed a one-and-a-half year deal with Greek club Levadiakos, according to both Pulido – who announced the transfer on Twitter – and the club. Tigres also released a press release announcing that CAS had ruled in their favour and would not sanction the transfer, but that "no risk of irreparable harm to the player" is caused by the player's decision not to re-join Tigres. Pulido's request for a provisional transfer had been rejected by the CAS, although a different request was lodged to FIFA. Pulido attended his first training session with Levadiakos on February 2nd. By FIFA's Player's Status Committee's provisional transfer to Pulido was granted on February 27, allowing him to play for Levadiakos even as the legal conflict raged.

Pulido scored on his official league debut with Levadiakos in the 3–1 victory over Platanias on March 9, 2015, and was named man of the match.

Levadiakos finished 14th in the table after completing the season with six games played and one goal scored.

Olympiacos reported the signing of Pulido from Levadiakos on July 3, 2015. Guadalajara's soccer team said they had purchased fifty percent of the player's rights during the annual league draft and were waiting for a ruling from CAS in favor of Tigres UANL, which may include negotiations with Guadalajara over Pulido.

Pulido started his first match for Olympiacos against Chania on January 13, scoring his fifth goal in the 6–0 victory. In a 0–0 draw game against Platanias on January 18, he made his Super League debut with the club in the Super League. Pulido won by 12-0 over Xanthi after being up for 90 minutes and scoring the only goal in a 1–0 victory. Pulido scored his third goal in the 3–0 victory over Veria on February 28, putting Olympiacos over the league with six games to spare, 21 points ahead of second-place AEK Athens.

Pulido Guadalajara's most expensive signing at the time, on August 30, 2016. Pulido made his league debut with Guadalajara on September ten days ago, coming as a replacement in the second half in a 2–0 victory over Chiapas. In a 2–1 loss to Toluca the following week, he scored his first goal for the club.

Guadalajara won the Clausura Copa MX final against Monarcas Morelia in April 2017, defeating them on a penalty shoot-out in which he scored. Tigres UANL's former club, Tigres UANL, was disputed over the Clausura championship the following month. He scored the first goal in a 2–2 draw in the first leg at Estadio Universitario. He scored the first goal of the match again in Estadio Chivas' return leg, this time as Goal of the Tournament. Guadala's favor was 2–1 for the first time since the Apertura 2006 — a first Double attained in Guadalajara's favor. He was named as the tournament's Most Valuable Player as well as Best XI.

Pulido will kick a free kick during his team's win over Toronto FC in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League finals on Saturday, helping his team win by 2–1 — Goal of the Tournament? Guadalajara won the finals after losing them by 4–2 after a 3–3 aggregate draw; winning the shootout; surviving during the shootout.

Pulido scored 12 goals in a tournament this year, becoming the first Mexican to score the most goals in a tournament since ngel Reyna in the Clausura 2011 with 11 goals. Pulido was later ranked the Golden Boot and included in the Apertura's Best XI.

Pulido will play for Major League Soccer Club Sporting Kansas City on a four-year deal, making his transfer the most expensive in the club's history.

Pulido scored a goal in his debut match against Vancouver Whitecaps on February 29, 2020, a 3–1 triumph. In a 2–1 victory over Houston Dynamo on Monday, he returned to the field after a hamstring injury and scored his first brace, earning him the nickname MLS Player of the Week.

Pulido was nominated for the MLS Newcomer of the Year Award for the 2014 season as a finalist and was named as a finalist for the team's Offensive Player of the Year award at the end of the year.

International career

Pulido scored three goals in the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Guatemala's group stage, where Mexico defeated the tournament and qualified for the under-20 World Cup in Colombia, which took place the same year.

Pulido was included in the tournament's roster, although Mexico finished third.

Pulido was granted his first call up to the senior national team by Luis Fernando Tena in 2011, a team largely made up of under-23 players due to the team's proximity to the recently concluded Gold Cup, but not participating in any games.

Pulido scored the first goal in Mexico's 7–1 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in the 2012 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament held in the United States on March 23, 2012. In Mexico's 3–0 victory over Honduras, he scored a hat-trick two days later. He scored his fifth goal in the semi-final match against Canada, placing him joint-top scorer alongside teammate Marco Fabián.

Mexico won the Toulon Tournament in the summer of that year, with Pulido scoring his first goal in the competition in a 3–0 victory over Turkey in the Final.

Pulido scored a hat-trick on his debut against South Korea on January 29, 2014, with Mexico winning the match 4–0. He scored his second goal in the 22-2 draw against the United States in a friendly match at the University of Phoenix Stadium on April 2nd.

Pulido was selected in Mexico's squad for the World Cup in Brazil on June 2, 2014. He did not appear in any match.

Alan Pulido had been included in the 2017 Gold Cup but had to pull off the list after suffering an injury in a friendly match against Paraguay and was later replaced by Erick Torrey.

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 30, 2023
St. Louis City SC, the Western Conference regular season champions, lost the first game of their best-of-three match against Sporting Kansas City 4-1. On a rainy Sunday evening, St. Louis, which made it to the playoffs for the first time in existence, couldn't deliver a result for the home fans cramming into CITYPARK. After conceding a 27th minute penalty, St. Louis responded just one minute later with a Tim Parker goal to tie it down.

HEADBUTTS defender in the face before being shown a red card at a shocking time

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 24, 2023
Alan Pulido, a Major League Soccer player, was suspended after a Leagues Cup match for headbutting his rival. After losing his cool, the Sporting Kansas City striker was shown a straight red in the 30th minute of the match against FC Cincinnati. Pulido and Yerson Mosquera, who is on loan from Premier League team Wolverham Wanderers, became entangled as they tussled for the ball. Mosquera, who had been knocked by Pulido's retaliation, pushed his opponent on the back. Pulido, on the other hand, responded in an overtly militant manner, criticizing Mosquera in the face.
