Life and career
Bright, the son of Anne Bright and Jake Crigger, was born in Victoria, British Columbia. Since his maternal grandfather, he was given the nickname "Douglas." His first acting role was in a Telus commercial, which was immediately followed by a guest appearance on the television show Higher Ground. He appeared in several minor roles in made-for-television films later in life, and was credited as "Cameron Crigger" for his roles (from The Christmas Secret to an episode of Night Visions).
Bright's first big role was in Godsend, a horror film co-starring Robert De Niro, which was released in April 2004 to mixed reviews. He played a ten-year-old boy who seems to be the reincarnation of a woman's (Nicole Kidman) deceased husband in his forthcoming film, Birth. Two scenes from the film caused controversies and attracted media attention to Bright. Bright and Kidman's characters kiss in one scene; in the other, the two characters share a bathtub. In the bath scenes, the actors were dressed in pale beige-colored swimsuits, and they were never naked or filmed together in the same room at the same time as the bathtub scene, although this was not public knowledge at first.
Bright appeared in numerous Hollywood films released in 2006, including Thank You for Smoking, Ultraviolet, and Running Scared.
He appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand, in which he portrayed the alien Leech, who has the mutant antibody. Graham Holt, a high school student who gains an ability after injecting himself with Prosperin, also appeared on an episode of The 4400 (episode: "The Wrath Of Graham" as a high school student named Graham Holt. In more than one film, he has appeared as a host carrier for a cure for humanity.
In the Twilight films New Moon (2009), Eclipse (2010), and Breaking Dawn Part II (2012), Bright plays Volturi vampire Alec, twin brother to Jane, played by Dakota Fanning.
