Life
Blyden was born in Reykjavk, Iceland. Baldvin, his father, is an Icelandic baker, and Deborah, a Cuban fitness instructor, is a Cuban fitness instructor. At an early age, Blyden started drumming.
Career
He chose Stony, a rough translation of Thorsteinn's second part of his Icelandic name, "Thor stone," for his musical artist name. He and his friends began filming various songs with a camera he borrowed from his father. Under the name Stony's World, he went on to upload his own drum covers to YouTube. He also made pop-inspired remixes of the Jake and Amir comedy web series produced by CollegeHumor, receiving millions of views on YouTube and a significant number of ITunes purchases. Blyden said that the proceeds from these remixes "got [him] through school" and that he continues to receive funds from the songs to this day.
