Booker T Life

Robert Booker Tio Huffman (born March 1, 1965), better known by his ring name Booker T, is an American professional wrestler, professional wrestling promoter, and color commentator signed with WWE.

He is also the founder and creator of the independent wrestling reality of Wrestling (ROW) in Texas City, Texas. Booker is best known for his time with World Championship Wrestling (WWF/E), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), which has hosted 35 championships between those groups.

He is the most decorated wrestler in WCW history, winning 21 titles, including a record six WCW World Television Championships (longer than being the first African American champion), and eleven in the WWF World Tag Team Championships: ten in WCW, as well as ten in the WWF with Test.

WWE announced Harlem Heat as being one of the best ever tag team in the WWE.

Booker was the final WCW World Heavyweight Champion and WCW United States Heavyweight Champion under the WCW banner; industry veteran John Layfield described him as "the best buy WWE made when WWE bought WCW" and twice in the WWF and once in WWE's World Heavyweight Championship.

He is the first non-mixed race African American to become a world champion in WWE, and he was named the best World Heavyweight Champion in a WWE viewer poll.

Booker has been a member of WCW (10 times), WWF/E (four times), and TNA (once).

In addition, he was the champion of the King of the Ring tournament in 2006, the sixteenth Triple Crown Champion and the eighth Grand Slam Champion (under current format) in WWE history.

Booker is one of five men to win both the WWE and WCW Triple Crowns in WCW history.

Kurt Angle, a long-serving wrestler, said of Booker, "He's done it all; he's legitimately one of the top five best of all time." "British Booker" was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his brother, Lash, on April 6, 2013.

On April 6, 2019, both he and Lash were inducted together in the 2019 class as Harlem Heat, making him one of four men to be a two-time Hall of Famer (alongside Ric Flair, Bret Hart & Shawn Michaels).

Early life

Huffman was born in Plain Dealing, Louisiana, but his birthplace is often misidentified as Houston, Texas. Both of his parents died and he lived with his 16-year-old sister by the time Booker was 13 years old. At age 17, he and his older brother Stevie Ray will move in together. Huffman was a drum major in high school. He has also played football and basketball.

Personal life

On May 23, 1996, Huffman married Levestia, his first wife. The booker performed at the Beach in front of the NEC World Heavyweight Championship victory. When Jartt struck her in the head with a guitar on Nitro on July 31, 2000, she was also used to further the feud between himself and Jeff Jartt. However, they got divorced on May 8, 2001.

Brandon, a former high school classmate, is a boy with whom he has a strained relationship as a result of his time on the road. Sharmell Sullivan, the booker's girlfriend of five years, married him in February 2005. In 2010, the couple welcomed twins, a boy named Kendrick and a girl named Kennedy. In 2005, Huffman and his brother Lash opened a wrestling school in Houston. He is also a fan of Formula One and was at the 2012 US Grand Prix as a guest of Lewis Hamilton.

Pro Wrestling Alliance, Huffman's own wrestling organization in Houston, Texas, was established in 2005. The promotion was rebranded to Reality of Wrestling in 2012. After the last 2013 festival, Christmas Chaos, ROW was near to close, but Houston businessman Hilton Koch, who helped with the event, became a Booker partner.

Booker T and Stevie Ray reunited as Harlem Heat for one last match in Reality of Wrestling for the promotion's "The Final Heat" event on February 21, 2015. They won the ROW Tag Team Championship over the Heavenly Bodies. The titles were vacated on March 14, 2014.

Booker T. is a wrestler who wrestles for the promotion in an eight-man tag team match in February 2020.

Huffman declared on December 10, 2016, that he would run for mayor of Houston, Texas. "2020 is going to be a new era in Houston, according to the mayor. We're going to be looking at it from a different perspective right now. 2020 is the summer season in the cool city. In 2016, Huffman said that his three years leading up to the 2019 election would be primarily aimed at the city's "homeless, underprivileged, and low income regions." However, in September 2019, Huffman was not one of the 12 names on the ballot.

Since pleaded guilty to armed robberies at Wendy's restaurants in Houston, Huffman spent nineteen months in jail. During the holdups, he and his coworkers wore Wendy's uniforms since they had been working there for 21 years. The robberies were discovered inside the gunmen's uniforms and familiarity with the fast food chain's operations, and it didn't take long before Huffman and three other men were discovered. He pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery and was sentenced to five years in jail in December 1987. After 19 months of service, Huffman was released and on parole until April 1992.

Booker T Career

Professional wrestling career

Huffman, a single father working at a storage facility in Houston, Texas, wanted to ensure a better life for himself and his son. Lash (Stevie Ray) Ray's brother recommended that he and Booker check out a new wrestling school being established, operated by Ivan Putski in conjunction with his Western Wrestling Alliance group. The storage company's owner funded the wrestling lessons. Booker was educated by Scott Casey, who helped turn Booker's experience as a gangster and dancer into "professional wrestling," transforming the newcomer's interest in ring psychology and ring generalization.

"G.I." debuted eight weeks later. Bro" on Putski's Western Wrestling Alliance Live! The program is designed to support the educational process. The plot was a tie-in to the raging Gulf War and Sgt. The WWF's Sgt. The slaughter factor has been played out. Despite the fact that the WWA came to an end a few years ago, Booker continued to wrestle on the Texas independent circuit, often with his brother Lash, who performed as Stevie Ray. Skandor Akbar recruited them to work for the Global Wrestling Federation (GWF), where he and Eddie Gilbert were both active. The Ebony Experience was shared by Gilbert and Peter Ray, who received the GWF Tag Team Championship on July 31, 1992. They held the tag title a total of three times during their time with GWF. Booker T and Stevie Ray left the GWF to work with World Championship Wrestling later this year.

After Sid Vicious suggested that they sign with World Championship Wrestling (WCW), the booker and his brother Stevie Ray have signed with the organization. They debuted as Harlem Heat in August 1993, with Booker renaming Kole and Lash renamed Kane. They were heels and were racing Harley Race and Collective. In the WarGames match against Sting, Davey Boy Smith, Dustin Rhodes, and The Shockmaster, Rob Parker's crew was defeated by his team on September 19 at Fall Brawl. They lost the match but were over as heels because of the caliber of faces they fought.

Sensational Sherri, nicknamed 'Sister' Sherri, was their boss, and they changed their names to Booker T and Stevie Ray at their request in 1994. Since defeating Stars and Stripes (The Patriot and Marcus Alexander Bagwell) in December, the Patriots and Stripes held the WCW Tag Team Championship by the end of 1994. Harlem Heat regained control on June 24, 1995, after losing the title to The Nasty Boys.

Harlem Heat's "Stud Stable" Dick Slater and Bunkhouse Buck collided with Col. Parker's "Stud Stable" ad a feud. Parker and Sherri were engaged in a love affair, and Parker eventually dropped the Stud Stable in favour of the Heat to be with Sherri. At Fall Brawl 1995, Harlem Heat defeated Dick Slater and Bunkhouse Buck, defeating him in the WCW World Tag Team Championships. Their third title reign only lasted for one day, but the pair regained the tag team championship nine days later from The American Males (Buff Bagwell and Scotty Riggs). Harlem Heat defeated Lex Luger and Sting on June 24, 1996, winning their fifth WCW World Tag Team championships.

Harlem Heat regained the Steiners' tag team titles three days after losing the tag team titles to the Steiner Brothers on July 27. Public Enemy (Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge) defeated Booker T and Stevie Ray on September 23, but the titles were reclaimed for the seventh time on October 1.

On October 27, the Tag Team Championship was lost to the Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall). They shot Col. Parker and beat him up later, and became full-fledged characters. They then engaged in a brief feud with Col. Parker's newest team, the Amazing French Canadians, which they lost. They feuded with Public Enemy (Grunge & Rocco), The Steiners, and the nWo in 1997. They fired Sherri and brought Jacqueline, a new boss, in fall 1997. They were briefly put out of action by the nWo and returned to rivalry with the Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian). Stevie took five months off from WCW to recover from an ankle injury, while Jacqueline was dropped for the WWF.

On the December 29, 1997 episode of Nitro, the booker made the move from singles action to the WCW World Television Championship from Disco Inferno. Perry Saturn and Rick Martel clashed over the crown, culminating in a gauntlet match at SuperBrawl VIII. Martel, the man who was supposed to win the match, died early due to a knee injury, and the remainder of the match had to be called in the ring.

Booker and Chris Benoit clashed in spring 1998. During a match against Fit Finlay, Benoit cost Booker the TV show. As a result, Booker and Benoit became a "best-of-seven series" with Finlay as the champion and the winner battling Finlay for the title. Booker T won the series after seven matches and mistrust from Bret Hart and Stevie Ray, and then regained the Television Championship on June 14.

On the edition of February 22 of Nitro, the booker scored a clean pinfall victory over Bret Hart. Scott Steiner regained the TV Championship from him the following month, defeating Booker in the finals of the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship tournament. At Slamboree, the booker lost the Television title to Rick Steiner a month later.

Booker had persuaded his brother, Stevie Ray, to leave the nWo and reunite Harlem Heat by mid-1999. At Road Wild, Harlem Heat defeated Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon for the WCW World Tag Team Championships. On August 23, they lost the WCW World Tag Team championships to Barry and Kendall Windham, but Harlem Heat recovered them a month later at Fall Brawl. The Rey Mysterio Jr. fracturing resultd in his inability, which was part of a three-way dance at Halloween Havoc, and the Filthy Animals were stripped of the WCW World Tag Team belts. Harlem Heat claimed their tenth WCW World Tag Team title overtaking Hugh Morrus and Brian Knobs, Konnan, and Kidman. Midnight, a female bodybuilder, had joined Harlem Heat by late 1999. Stevie stopped asking for her assistance and began arguing with Booker over her.

Stevie Ray eventually met Midnight in a match that determined whether or not she would remain with Harlem Heat. Stevie Ray, after being disappointed with a surprise small parcel, assembled Harlem Heat, Inc. with Big T, Kash, and J. Biggs. Harlem Heat 2000 was a hit on Stevie Ray and Big T, who dubbed themselves Harlem Heat 2000. During this period, Huffman was referred to simply as Booker, as Harlem Heat 2000 earned the right to the word "T" in a match against Booker on February 20, 2000, beating Harlem Heat 2000 (Ray and Big T) at Uncensored 2000.

Huffman's in-ring persona changed dramatically as a result of Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff's creation of The New Blood, leading Captain Rection's military-themed Misfits In Action as G.I. Bro is reprising his gimmicks from his time in the WWA. In a Boot Camp match, he defeated Shawn Stasiak at the Grand American Bash. On the June 19 Nitro, he returned to the Booker T brand, promoting Rection to the rank of General and demanding that the Misfits return to the New Blood.

In 2000, Huffman was promoted to main event champion status. During a live broadcast of Bash at the Beach, WWE booker Vince Russo grew dissatisfied with Hulk Hogan's politics, he fired Hogan. WCW World Heavyweight Championship impromptu matches between Jeff Jartt and Huffman were announced. After Ron Simmons, Huffman defeated him in the finals of WCW, becoming the second African American champion in the sport, and the third African American to win a World Heavyweight title. On August 28, he lost the championship to Kevin Nash on Nitro. In a steel cage match with Nash at Fall Brawl, he regained the title a few weeks later but Russo vacated the title, and Booker defeated Jeff Jarrett for the third time in a cage match against Jeff Jarrett on October 2nd.

Scott Steiner, the booker's next rivalry, to whom he eventually lost the title in a Straitjacket steel cage match. At Mayhem, Steiner defeated by TKO when he introduced an unconscious Booker into the Steiner Recliner. Steiner was the WCW's longest reigning champion in years, although Booker was briefly out of action due to a back injury. At Greed, Booker returned to the roster and defeated Rick Steiner for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. This made Booker the ninth WCW Triple Crown champion. He defeated Scott Steiner to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship for the fourth time on Nitro's final episode.

According to sports writer Michael Landsberg, Huffman was salaried at "roughly a million dollars a year" in WCW. He has gained a total of twenty-one awards within the company, making him the most outstanding performer in the company's history. When he accepted a World Wrestling Federation job, Booker became both the reigning WCW Heavyweight Champion and WCW World Heavyweight Champion. (WWF).

Booker T made his debut at the King of the Ring pay-per-view in 2001, injuring WCW champion Stone Cold Steve Austin in his first appearance in the WWF, triggering his injury immediately after his match. During the Invasion storyline, he later turned heel and became a leading member of The Alliance. On his debut match in the company, Booker defended his WCW Championship over Buff Bagwell; sports journalist Michael Landsberg said that many have described this match as "the worst match ever." When Austin joined the Alliance, the Alliance defeated Team WWF at InVasion. On the 26th episode of SmackDown!, Booker T gave up his WCW United States Championship and handed it over to Chris Kanyon. Kurt Angle won the WCW Championship later this year, but he went on to win the title on Raw's July 30 episode. Booker T retained the title until Juneslam, when he lost it to The Rock after feuding with him over the similarity in their gimmicks and their common finishing moves, the Book End/Rock Bottom. For an eleventh time, Booker T won the WCW Tag Team Championship, this time with Test, and he also had a WWF Tag Team Championship experience with Test. Booker T was ranked third by The Rock after a roll-up, and finally The Alliance was defeated, causing the party to disband.

Booker was still a heel, and he joined Vince McMahon and The Boss Man in December to feud with Steve Austin. Austin took revenge in a brawl in a mall, where Austin won a match against Chris Jericho for the Undisputed WWF Championship at Vengeance, shaming Booker T with food. The brawl cost the company 10,000 to 15,000 dollars in damages. Then, a week after Booker T vandalized Austin's truck, Austin had Austin chased Booker T around a bingo hall and a church.

Booker T's first WrestleMania appearance came against Edge, which he lost. They fought over who would be the protagonist of a fictional Japanese shampoo brand. When the brand extension was unveiled in March, Booker T was drafted to the Raw brand. Booker briefly held the WWF Hardcore Championship twice at Insurrection, defeating Stevie Richards and then losing it to Crash Holly seconds later. Stevie Richards took the lead to Crash re-defeated it and lost the championship a few minutes later.

Goldust began preparing with Booker to form a tag team, but Goldust kept paying Booker matches. Booker T was eventually accepted into the club, with the nWo now operating in WWE. After being kicked out of the group by Shawn Michaels after a superkick from Michaels, his time there was short-lived. The booker then turned face and discovered a friendship with Goldust, and the pair forged together to fight the nWo. At SummerSlam, the Booker and Goldust had a WWE Tag Team Championship match against The Un-Americans (Christian and Lance Storm), but the Un-Americans had been retained due to Test interference. At No Mercy, Booker and Goldust fought Chris Jericho and Christian for the World Tag Team Championship, but they lost the match after Jericho lost the championship belt to Goldust.

He spent the remainder of 2002 with Goldust. They won the World Tag Team Championship at Armageddon in a Tag Team Elimination match against Christian and Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, and William Regal, as well as the Dudley Boyz. They ruled for about three weeks before losing them to Regal and Storm. Both the booker and the Goldust lost the match and decided to go their separate ways. Goldust was a strange yet dependable ally for Booker and Goldust, who Booker eventually warmed up to after initial skepticism. However, Booker T's fame had risen and he was amicably removed from Goldust, at Goldust's behest, in order to qualify for the World Heavyweight Championship. In February 2003, he beat The Rock to win a fight royal, making him the top contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XIX.

After Batista and Randy Orton assaulted Booker's former coworker, Goldust, the booker criticised Evolution. Several weeks before WrestleMania, the incumbent champion and Evolution's leader, missed Booker T's WCW World Heavyweight Championship, pointing out that non-wrestlers like booker Vince Russo and actor David Arquette had won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, claiming the WCW World Heavyweight Championship's physical hand, Big Gold Belt, and Triple H's Evolution stablemate, Ric Flair, were holding the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, "People like" Booker T would never win world championships in WWE, according to his. Triple H's reference to Booker T's "nappy" hair and implying that Booker T was just in WWE to dance and entertain for "people like" Triple H during the WrestleMania XIX press conference, although Triple H said this was not the case and that he was simply referring to Booker's criminal history. After Triple H had thrown a dollar bill at him, Booker assaulted Triple H in the bathroom and laid him out, Booker demanded that Booker bring him a towel a week later. At WrestleMania, however, Booker T lost to Triple H. He worked with Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash in a war against Triple H, Ric Flair, and Chris Jericho for several weeks. When Triple H pinned Nash after a sledgehammer shot, Booker's team was defeated.

Booker then set his sights on the newly revived Intercontinental Championship. Booker and the champion Christian fought for the title at Judgment Day after losing a battle royal for the throne. On the 7th episode of Raw, Booker defeated Christian to become the new Intercontinental Champion. Booker lost the Internal title back to Christian at a non-televised house show on August 10. A month later, due to a nagging back injury, Booker lost the Internal title back to Christian. In the meantime, the booker was out of action until October.

Booker appeared on Raw's October 20 episode and later joined Team Austin at Survivor Series to see if Eric Bischoff or Stone Cold Steve Austin (both co-general managers) will be Raw's sole General Manager. The match was won by Team Bischoff. Mark Henry, the booker, then feuded with him, who was exiled from the Survivor Series match. At Armageddon, a booker defeated Henry VIII.

Rob Van Dam, Booker T and Rob Van Dam, defeated Ric Flair and Batista for the World Tag Team Championship on February 16, 2004. For a month, the booker and Van Damme held the titles, as well as defending the belts at WrestleMania XX in a Fatal 4-Way tag team match. They lost the World Tag Team Championships to Ric Flair and Batista eight days later on the March 22 episode of Raw. Due to Rob Van Dam being drafted to SmackDown, he and Rob Van Dam never got their match back to smackDown! It was all the same night.

He was "traded" (along with the Dudley Boyz) to SmackDown on March 23, 2004. In exchange for Triple H, the brand was compensated for Triple H, but he became dissatisfied with the change naming SmackDown! Eddie Guerrero, the brand's WWE Champion, who turned heel in the process, was "the minor leagues" and also insulted him. Booker T bragged about how he was the best actor on SmackDown later on! The Undertaker and The Undertaker feud. The booker attempted to beat his "true" opponents by using voodoo magic, but it didn't stop him from losing to the Undertaker on Judgment Day.

Booker T. Settler and its champion, John Cena, set their sights on the United States Championship in mid-2004. After Cena fell on the bad side of General Manager Kurt Angle's ostensible side, he did his best to get the title away from Cena. In a four-way elimination match against Booker, René Duprée, and Rob Van Dam, Cena successfully defended the title at The Great American Bash. In a match that also featured Cena, Dupree, Billy Gunn, Charlie Haas, Luther Reigns, Kenzo Suzuki, and Van Dam, Booker won the vacant United States Championship after Angle was stripped of his title for "laying a hand" on the GM. The booker won by beating both Cena and Van Dam in a matter of less than ten seconds after Mr. McMahon was disciplined for embellishing his injuries, theodore Long began his first stint as SmackDown! Booker and Cena's GM has arranged a best-of-five series of matches for the United States Championship. The first match took place at SummerSlam in Toronto, with Cena winning by a pinfall victory and going 1–0 in the series. On the August 26 edition of SmackDown, the booker will return and win the next two matches. The lead was taken by Fresno, California, at a live event the next night in Sydney, Australia. The next match in the series will not be announced until September 16 SmackDown! From Spokane, Washington, where Cena won and tied the series at two apiece. The series came to an end at No Mercy, where Cena defeated the series 3–2 and, hence, the United States Championship.

On October 21, SmackDown!

Booker was placed in a six-man tag team match against John "Bradshaw" Layfield (JBL), René Duprée, and Kenzo Suzuki. Booker had been predicted to betray his families, but the Booker had pinned him, thereby turning the tables. On November 14, Booker TBL battled JBL for the WWE Championship at the Survivor Series, but lost after being struck in the chest with the championship belt. Booker T. ordered a match the next night, blaming Orlando Jordan's interference. Eddie Guerrero and The Undertaker, who also wanted a shot at JBL's victory, joined him, causing Theodore Long to make a deadly four-way match for the WWE Championship at Armageddon. Booker failed to win the title once more while JBL retained it. Eddie Guerrero briefly joined Meisterio and Van Dam for the WWE Tag Team Championship at one point, and Heidenreich feuded with Heidenreich.

At WrestleMania 21 last night, Booker defeated Raw's Viscera and Chris Masters in a 30-man Battle Royal dark match. Booker was later discovered to select a new number one contender and make it to the Final Four. Kurt Angle returned the favour, costing Angle the match against JBL after Kurt Angle dismissed Booker. As Angle began stalking Booker's new wife, Sharmell, the storyline then became a sexual one. At Judgment Day, the booker defeated Angle. Booker appeared in a "Winners Choice" Battle Royal on May 26, with the winner choosing his opponent for the next week. Kurt Angle won and wanted to fight Sharmell. The booker protested, and the game was turned into a Handicap match. Angle gained a sexual position by defeating Sharmell in a sex contest. Booker took revenge on Angle by beating him with a Scissors Kick last week.

JBL defeated Christian, The Undertaker, Chris Benoit, Muhammad Hassan, and Booker T in a six-man elimination match for the SmackDown on June 30. Champion of the Bahamas. Booker became intimate with Christian during the match. Christian was defeated by the booker at The Great American Bash later this year.

Booker T started competing with Chris Benoit, eying his United States Championship once more. So Booker, Christian, and Orlando Jordan tried to impress Benoit by winning matches. Benoit decided not to choose one opponent, instead making it a fatal four-way for No Mercy, where Benoit defended his title. Booker T defeated Benoit for the United States Championship on October 21 on SmackDown! Thanks to Sharmell's unseen assistance. In Booker's matches, theodore Longmore showed a video of Sharmell interfering. The booker managed to apologise to Benoit and request a rematch, but Benoit was then charged, busting him open with the United States championship belt and turning heel once more. The booker later claimed that he had been perfectly aware of what Sharmell was doing and had been playing dumb to deceive everybody.

Booker T defended the United States Championship over Benoit on the November 25 episode of SmackDown! Benoit and two referees were obstructing Booker and two referees, who said that they had won the match, and the wrestler had won by three points. Theodore Long was stripped of the belt because of the mystery of who would win after pinned each other at the same time. Benoit and Booker were put together in a best of seven series, as the two wrestled together in their WCW days. Booker took the lead early in the 3 0s. Benoit was able to beat Booker T 3–1 in a must-win tie during Armageddon. Booker was injured at a house show, and he did not return to combat until the "Best of Seven" series with Benoit was finished. At the December 30 taping of SmackDown, the booker was supposed to face Benoit in Match 5 of the Best of Seven Series. GM Theodore Long said at the beginning of the show that Booker would have to forfeit. Both Booker and Benoit protested, with Benoit refusing to win at a cheap price. Long was persuaded by the booker to order a stand-in for the matches. Randy Orton was selected as the booker's substitute. After beating Orton in two consecutive matches on December 30 and January 6, 2006 episodes of SmackDown, Benoit was able to tie the series 3–3. Orton, on the last match of SmackDown's January 13 episode, was able to defeat Benoit. Booker T.'s victory and the title was the first in the series and the series, although Benoit recovered it from No Way Out.

Booker and Sharmell contributed guest commentary for a match involving the Boogeyman on SmackDown! Boogeyman unleashed a bucket of worms onto the announce table where they were seated, frightening the two men. Boogeyman will stalk Booker and Sharmell over the next two weeks. On the 18th of March 19, booker and Boogeyman were supposed to meet in XXII, but the match was called off due to Booker's knee injury to avoid competition. The feud came to an end at WrestleMania 22, with Booker and Sharmell losing to Boogeyman. On the episode of SmackDown! on April 7, the couple received a restraining order against The Boogeyman, effectively ending the feud.

Kurt Angle, the booker's semifinal opponent who was unable to compete, advanced to the finals of the 2006 King of the Ring tournament on SmackDown! At Judgment Day, Booker defeated Bobby Lashley in the finals. Booker began wrestling as "King Booker" and started behaving like a real monarch reigning "The SmackDown!" after winning the King of the Ring tournament. The United Kingdom is the United Kingdom's most populated region. The booker established a royal court that included his wife, Queen Sharmell, Sir William Regal, and Sir Finlay, as well as including the mannerisms and appearance of a stereotypical English-style king as part of the character, all the way down to wearing a crown and cape and speaking in a fake English accent. However, if King Booker were to get angry, he'd launch a tirade in the style of Booker T (an example of this was an episode of SmackDown). Long, where Theodore Long would tell him he'd be fighting The Undertaker) a comedic twist to the story; even going as far as having Lashley kiss his "royal" feet.

Booker continued to feud with Lashley after winning his title of King. Booker started chasing after winning the United States Championship and even tried to make Lashley's "royal feet" kissed on the June 2 episode of SmackDown! On the last episode of SmackDown, the feud came to an end after a steel cage match. Lashley defeated Booker by escaping the cage to keep the United States Championship.

On SmackDown next week, Booker will face Booker in a royal brawl. At The Great American Bash, the winner will face Rey Mysterio for his World Heavyweight Championship. Since Chavo Guerrero betrayed Mysterio by securing him with a steel chair, Booker dominated the battle royal and then defeated Mysterio at The Great American Bash to win the World Heavyweight Championship. This was Booker's first world championship since joining WWE, and the win earned him to rename himself as the "King of the World." This victory makes Booker his sixteenth Triple Crown Champion and eighth Grand Slam Champion (under the original design) in WWE history.

After Booker won the World Heavyweight Championship, he stepped into a feud with former champion Batista, who promised to regain the title after being forced to forfeit due to injury. When the two men locked up to a violent fistfight at a SummerSlam pay-per-view commercial shoot, according to Batista's apparent superiority to the majority of the roster due to his quick rise to main event status. Both men were bloodied and bruised, according to reports, but Booker was lauded by several wrestlers in the back for speaking out about his behavior in Batista. Booker lost to Batista by disqualification after Queen Sharmell intervened on his behalf (thus retaining the title), but Booker defeated Batista, Lashley, and his own stablemate, Finlay in a Fatal 4-Way match at SummerSlam. Booker assaulted Sir William Regal before the match, resulting in the breakup of the King's Court.

Despite his Court's break, Booker lost by disqualification on the October 20 episode of SmackDown, which is due to misconduct from WWE Champion John Cena of Raw and ECW World Champion Big Show, the two of whom King Booker would face on Sunday in a "champion of champions" match. The fans voted for the World Heavyweight Championship to be on the line at Cyber Sunday. After losing Big Show and Cena with Kevin Federline's support, the booker was retained.

The feud between King Booker and Batista raged into the following days after Cyber Sunday, with Batista unable to challenge Booker for the title. Booker announced on November 26 that if Batista loses this time, it will be the last World Heavyweight Championship match he will win as long as Booker is champion.

At Survivor Series, SmackDown!

Theodore Long, the General Manager, decided that if Booker was counted out or disqualified, he would forfeit the position. Queen Sharmell gave Booker his championship belt late in the match, but referee Nick Patrick was not interested. Although Booker was distracted by Patrick, she attempted to strike Batista with the belt. Batista came out of the way, knocked the belt out of Booker's hands and struck him in the head with it, and King Booker lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Batista. After losing the title, Booker feuded with former royal court member Finlay against Batista and John Cena, which culminated in their defeat in Armageddon.

King Booker was disqualified by Kane while competing in the Royal Rumble match. Kane was shot and killed by a furious Booker who returned to the ring unlawfully and humiliated him. This sparked a brief feud between the two teams that culminated in a game of No Way Out, which Kane took home. Booker won a Falls Count Anywhere Money in the Bank qualifier final match on February 23, defeating Kane (with support from The Great Khali) and earning himself a spot in the match at WrestleMania 23. Matt Hardy set up Sharmell for a Twist of Fate during the Bank match, requiring him to choose between a limited title shot and his wife. He defended Sharmell but lost the game. On the SmackDown! episode of April 6, Booker attempted to get revenge. Nonetheless, he lost the match against Matt Hardy, and Sharmell expressed her dissatisfaction with him and slapped him.
