Early life

Blake Tollison Shelton was born in Ada, Oklahoma, to Dorothy Ann (née Bristol) (born 1936), a beauty salon owner, and Richard Lee "Dick" Shelton (1940–2012), a car salesman. Shelton began playing at an early age, and by the age of 12, he was taught how to play the guitar by his uncle. He had written his first song by age 15, and by age 15, he had written his first album. He had been awarded a Denbo Diamond Award in his home state by age 16. Richie Shelton, his older brother, was killed in a car crash on November 13, 1990.

After graduating from high school at 17, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a singing career. He started working at a music publishing company and was aided by Bobby Braddock to obtain a Sony Music contract in 1997.

Personal life

On November 17, 2003, Shelton married longtime girlfriend Kaynette Gern. They divorced in 2006.

Shelton performed Miranda Lambert at the CMT's 100 Greatest Duets Concert in 2005. Lambert also performed background vocals on his cover of Michael Bublé's "Home," which became a number one hit on the Hot Country Songs chart. Shelton proposed Lambert on May 9, 2010, after being in mourning for four years. Shelton and Lambert were married in Boerne, Texas, on May 14, 2011.

Dick, Shelton's father, died in Oklahoma on January 17, 2012, after a period of declining health. Richie Shelton's brother died in 1990 as a result of a car crash when Blake was 14 years old. In Richie's song, "Over You," Blake and Lambert wrote about him. For 2012, the song was selected CMA Song of the Year. The 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards had also named it as Single Record and Song of the Year.

Shelton and Lambert announced their separation in July 2015. "This is not the future we envisioned," the couple said, and it is with a heavy heart that we move forward separately." We are real people with real families, acquaintances, and coworkers. We kindly request for anonymity and compassion in this very personal matter." Later that day, their divorce was finalized.

Shelton started dating his colleague from The Voice, No Doubt vocalist Gwen Stefani in late 2015. Shelton and Stefani first met in the summer of 2015 as they shot the ninth season of The Voice, saying, "Gwen saved my life." Who else on the planet could imagine going through a celebrity's divorce from another musician? You can't even imagine the similarities in our divorces."

Since becoming a couple, Stefani and Shelton have collaborated on music numerous times. The musicians co-wrote the song "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" in 2015 as they navigated the beginning of their relationship. "If I'm Honest" was featured on Shelton's 2016 album. Both the Duets "Nobody But You" and "Happy Anywhere" have reached No. 1 in 2020. 1 on the Billboard US Country Airplay chart. On Stefani's 2017 holiday album of the same name, they also collaborated on the song "You Make It Feel Like Christmas."

"You think you know what love is," Shelton said of Stefani in a January 2020 interview with Gayle King, "I didn't know what love is for me, but I didn't until she came into my life." Shelton and Stefani announced their engagement on October 27, 2020, after five years of dating. Shelton later revealed more information, including that shelton proposed to Stefani in front of her three children and other family members at a church on his property in Oklahoma. On July 3, 2021, the couple married in the same chapel.

Shelton's three children's three brothers all have embraced his role as a stepfather. At the Country Radio Seminar in March 2022, Stefani's sons fell in love with the boys every day as much as I do with Gwen.

He gave the Jimmy Everest Center, a University of Oklahoma College of Medicine hospital for children with blood cancer and blood disorders in September 2016. This donation came after two of Shelton's concerts in Oklahoma City, which raised the funds that he donated. Shelton claims he has a personal connection to the hospital because his cousin's daughter Aspen was diagnosed with cancer and treated at the hospital. At the same hospital, he founded the Blake Shelton Cancer Research Program.

Blake Shelton Career

Music career

He signed to Giant Records in Nashville some years ago. He was supposed to debut "I Wanta Talk About Me" as a single in 2001. However, staff at the label deemed the song unsuitable for a lead-off single, and Toby Keith's version became a top-one single.

Instead, Giant debuted "Austin" as Shelton's debut single. Giant Records was shut down shortly after the album was released, and Shelton was transferred to Warner Bros. Records, a parent company. "Austin" became Shelton's first number one hit on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts, and she spent five weeks at that position. Shelton's self-titled debut album, which was produced by songwriter Bobby Braddock, has been released by Warner. "All Over Me," which Shelton co-wrote with Earl Thomas Conley and Mike Pyle, as well as "Ol' Red," were also produced by the program. Although Shelton's interpretation of "Ol' Red" was not a big radio hit, he still thinks it is his signature tune, and it has become extremely popular in concert. The album was given a platinum label by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for 1,000,000 copies.

Maria Konicki Dinoia of Allmusic called "Austin" "tremendously imaginative" and praised Shelton for including songs written by Braddock and Conley. The Country Standard Time was less encouraging, with Scott Homewood remarking that the album "smacks of being assembled with the intention of capturing the burgeoning alternative country market."

Warner Bros. Records first released Shelton's second album, The Dreamer, on February 4, 2003. "The Baby," the baby's lead-off single, debuted at No. 2. 1. On the country charts, 1 is the highest ranking, with three weeks as the world number one. Despite the fact that the second and third singles ("Heavy Liftin" and "Playboys of the Southwestern World," respectively) only reached No. The 32nd and the No. 3 have been ranked 32 and No. (0). The Dreamer gained gold medals for her 24 years. On Tracy Byrd's mid-2003 album "The Truth About Men," he, along with Andy Griggs and Montgomery Gentry sang guest vocals. Barn & Grill, Blake Shelton's third studio album, was released in 2004. The Harley Allen co-write "When Somebody Knows You That Well" peaked at No. 2, the nation's highest-selling song. On the country charts, 37 is No. 37, while the sequel "Some Beach" became his third No. 3. One hit and been in that position for four weeks. It was followed by a photo of Conway Twitty's 1988 single "Goodbye Time." Both this report and its sequel, "Nobody But Me," made it to the top ten for Shelton. Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill was certified platinum on his first album. The album's release was accompanied by a video collection titled Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill: A Video Collection.

Several of Shelton's songs, including "Nobody But Me," appeared on the television show The Christmas Blessing, starring Neil Patrick Harris, Rebecca Gayheart, Angus T. Jones, and Rob Lowe on December 18, 2005. Shelton appeared in a small role at the end of the film, as shelton was playing himself at a charity benefit concert and singing "Nobody But Me."

In early 2007, Shelton's fourth studio album, Pure BS, was released. Shelton coproduced this album with Braddock, Brent Rowan, and Paul Worley, unlike his first three albums, which were entirely produced by Bobby Braddock. Its first two singles, "Don't Make Me" and "The More I Drink," were among the country's top 20 hits, with No.12 and No. 6. 19. Shelton appeared on television shows in late 2007: first as a judge on the talent competition in Nashville, and later on Clash of the Choirs.

Pure BS released three bonus tracks in 2008, including a recap of Michael Bublé's hit song "Home." This issue, which debuted in early 2008 as the album's third single, became his fourth No.1 hit in July.

In August 2008, "Home" was followed by the single "She Wouldn't Be Gone," his 14th chart entry and fifth No. 58. 1 hit. It was the first time he had two consecutive number one's in his career. The lead-off to Shelton's fifth studio album, Startin' Fires, which also produced the single "I'll Just Hold On." This collection also features "Bare Skin Rug," a duet with Lambert. It was made by Scott Hendricks, save for one track, which was created by Brent Rowan, and another ("I Don't Care") that carried over from Pure BS. Blake Shelton performed "Hillbilly Bone" after "I'll Just Hold On" fell off the chart in October 2009. It was the lead single on Shelton's EP, Hillbilly Bone, which was released on March 2, 2010, via Reprise Records Nashville. After "Hillbilly Bone" came to No. 1, the No. 1 in the U.S. All About Tonight, the lead-off single to his EP of the same name, was released in February 1 in August.
