André Gerardus "André" Hazes (30 June 1951 – September 24, 2004) was the most well-known singer of the Dutch levenslied genre, with accessible songs of everyday life sung in the Dutch language.

Personal life
In 1974, Hazes married Annie Dijkstra. In 1973, she gave birth to Nathalie, a daughter. In 1979, the couple married. Dijkstra and Hazes engaged in court fight over the right to sell a biography of Hazes; Dijkstra lost the appeal. Ellen Wolf married Hazes in 1981. Melvin was born in 1982, and she gave birth to her son Melvin. The couple married in 1990; Wolf later died of breast cancer at the age of 47. Hazes married Rachel van Galen, his third wife, in 1991. Hazes was Van Galen's senior for nineteen years; she gave birth to his third and fourth children, daughter Roxeanne (1993), and son André "Dré" Jr. (1994). Hazes remained married to his third wife until his death in 2004.
Following his death, a rivalry between Hazes' first two children emerged. They accused Hazes' third wife Rachel of commercially exploiting his children's death for her own benefit. Roxeanne and André Jr., Hazes' children, released a cover album (Voor Jou, Van Jou) in 2010, which contained the most popular of Hazes' songs. They went on to be known as artists in their own right.
