Early life
Aaron Douglas was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, a suburb of Vancouver. Michael Douglas, his father, is a scientist, and his mother, Arlene Elliot, is a psychologist. Chris is his brother, who is four years old. The family lived in Vancouver until Douglas was ten years old, when they moved to Creston, British Columbia, where he attended Prince Charles Secondary School as an infant and appeared in school plays and was active in community theater. He resigned from his career and returned to Vancouver to pursue a career in acting at the age of 26. At VanArts, he spent time at the renowned William Davis Centre for Actors Study.
Douglas performed with the Okanagan Shakespeare Company in Canada after completing the course at VanArts. Many of his early acting jobs were due to his work as a "reader" for auditions. His job was to read the other half of the conversation for the individual auditioning for a role. The director would often say, "You know the cop role with three lines, do you want to do it?" says the actor. He started his resume off with those little details.

Wil Wheaton from Star Trek: The Next Generation is also a huge fan of the film. When Aaron first encountered him at a convention in 2008, he confessed to going "fangirl" on him.
