Hussain maintains their association with Kopycats Production, whose scripts included Half Plate, Pawney 14 August, Sawa 14 August and Saichin, as well as the most famous Aangan Terha in which Yasir Hussain appeared in the role of Akbar, which was originally performed by late Saleem Nasir.

In the film Karachi Se Lahore (2015) written by himself and directed by Wajahat Rauf, Hussain made his Lollywood debut as Moti.

He has appeared on television serials, including sitcom Coke Kahani Life Hai and drama serial Dareecha. He reprised his role as Moti in Lahore Se Aagey (2016), a spin-off to Karachi Se Lahore that was released on November 11, 2016. He appeared in numerous television films and a drama serial Shaadi Mubarak Ho opposite Kubra Khan, directed by Wajahat Rauf and written by Yasir Hussain himself. Hussain appeared on The After Moon Show two seasons. He is currently playing the role of an antagonist in Baandi's drama serial named Tahawar.

After 7 years with Naach Na Jaanay, a prequel to Aangan Terrha, Yasir Hussain made his return to theater. Anwar Maqsood wrote the script. The play will be launched on March 23, 2019, according to the company. In the play, Yasir will play the Akbar in the main role. With the exception of 102 consecutive shows in Karachi, this Angan tehra play set new records. Anwar Maqsood had also written it. Yasir appeared in Aangan Tehra as Saleem Nasir's role from his drama Aangan Terha as a seventh-year-old actor in the serial's revival. Dawar Mahmood will be directing it, and KopyKats will be in charge of producing it at Arts Council Karachi. Yasir said that his job is all about the dancer who is living in Zia's period.

Yasir Hussain has been chastised by the Pathan community for mocking their word Pashto and often attempting to elicit racist responses from audiences toward Pathan jokes.

When it came to be in Pakistani advertisements, Yasir Hussain was also chastised for his unwelcoming treatment of Turkish actors and actresses. He was trolled on every single article about his fights, but some celebrities decided he was being bullied and trolling was getting too much.
