Kyle Newacheck (born January 23, 1984) is an American television writer, producer, and actor.
He is best known as one of the creators of the comedy Central show Workaholics, in which he also appeared.
Life and career
Newacheck, a native of Concord, California, graduated from The Los Angeles Film School in 2004 with a degree in editing. He served as an editing tutor at his alma mater before forming Mail Order Comedy with Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine, and Anders Holm in 2006.
With Mail Order Comedy, the most notable of which was the "Crossbows and Moustaches" web series for Myspace, Newacheck began writing, directing, and editing comedies short films. Workaholics, a Comedy Central series that aired for seven seasons, revolves around three slackers and their drug dealer. Karl Hevacheck, a drug dealer in Newacheck's film, co-stars.
About half of the Workaholics episodes were also directed by Newacheck. He has since risen to fame as a semi-proficient television comedy producer, directing episodes of Community, Parks, and Recreation, Happy Endings, and others. Greg Daniels and Robert Padnick's untitled television film is currently being directed by him.
Adam DeVine, a mail order comedy partner, appeared on Newacheck's House Party, and he also performed with Mail Order Comedy partner Adam DeVine. Newacheck is the co-creator, producer, and occasional actor.
He and his brother, Adam, produced the music for Childish Gambino's "The Worst Guys" in 2014.
It was announced in June 2016 that Devine, Anderson, Holm, and Newacheck were producing a film with Seth Rogen as the producer. Game Over, Man!, a Netflix original, debuted on Netflix in 2018.
He has been a co-executive producer and director on FX's program "What We Do in the Shadows" since 2019.
