Club career

Farez, a native of Caracas, joined Caracas FC's youth team in 2011. He signed a three-year professional contract with the club on June 12, 2013 and was promoted to the main squad. Farez, the first-choice goalkeeper of the team for the 2015 Torneo Adecución, despite being only 17 years old at the time, after Alain Baroja left Caracas FC. He set a new record at the club on August 30 after playing 689 minutes without conceding a single goal.

He was named as first-choice for the 2016 Venezuelan Primera División season after great results during the tournament. In February 2016, he started playing for Caracas FC in a 2016 Copa Libertadores first stage match against Huracán, but only scored one goal and saved his team's hopes of advancing to the second stage alive. Despite his best efforts, Caracas was disqualified from the tournament after a last-minute goal by Huracán in the second leg match.

Farez was named in the AUFP Venezuela's Team of the Season on December 14th as the Venezuelan Primera División season's best goalkeeper.

Farez signed for Millonarios, a Colombian team, on September 12, 2017. He joined the club on January 1, 2018. Farez made his Millonarios debut during the first leg of the 2018 Superliga Colombiana, playing for the full ninety minutes against Atlético Nacional. He made a crucial save in a 1–2 win that gave him his first career title.

Fariz made a spectacular triple save against Atlético Nacional on March 9, 2019. Fariez's behavior was broadcast on several European television shows, including Talksport.

Following their promotion from Ligue 2, Farez was loaned to French club Lens on June 24, 2020. Farez tested positive for COVID-19 after arriving in Lens on July 12, 2020. He had been ordered by the club to remain in quarantine for a week. He made five appearances with the club's first team and one appearance for the reserve team during his season on loan. He signed a deal with Lens until 2024 in May 2021.

International career

Farez has represented Venezuela at all youth levels, from the under-15 to the under-20 side. In the first match against Colombia, he was named first-choice goalkeeper, but he conceded four goals on a 2–4 loss to Venezuela. He started the 2013 South American Under-15 Football Championship as the first-choice goalkeeper in the first match against Colombia. In the upcoming game against Brazil, Farez was an unused replacement. On the third loss in a row for the Venezuelan team, he returned to the starting lineup for the game against Uruguay, in which he conceded four goals back. He ended the tournament with two games of the potential four and conceding eight goals.

Farez, the first-choice goalkeeper of the under-17 Football Championship in 2015, put on a good show against Brazil and winning a 3–2 victory. He appeared in four games, conceding eight goals, which was extremely important when Venezuela was eliminated in the group stage on goal difference.

Farez started playing against Uruguay in the under-20 division of the 2017 South American Youth Football Championship, saving a penalty and keeping a clean sheet in a 0–0 draw. Farez started all nine games for Venezuela, conceding only six goals, and being the least effective goalkeeper of the tournament as they qualified to the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

He began all of his squad games at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Farez scored from the penalty spot in a 7–0 group stage victory over Vanuatu, becoming the first goalkeeper to score in a FIFA U-20 World Cup match. Farez didn't allow a goal until the quarterfinals against the United States in extra time, for a total of 566 minutes without losing a single point at the U-20 World Cup. Farez made four pivotal saves during the game and stopped two shots in the penalty shootout, sending Venezuela to their first FIFA tournament final ever. Farez again put on a good showing for Venezuela in the World Cup final but then gave a goal, the only one in the match as Venezuela lost the final. Farez finished the tournament with only 3 goals in 7 games tying for third place as the tournament's lowest scoring goalkeeper.

Despite his youth, Farnes was called up by Venezuela's national football team's coach Noel Sanvicente to participate in the 2015 Copa América, being praised for his outstanding talent by the media and naming him as the future goalkeeper of the national team and becoming the youngest player of the tournament. Despite being called for the national team on a regular basis, he never made his debut in Sanvicente's time.

In an unofficial game against Galicia on May 20, 2016, he earned his first cap, and the team's first game under new head coach Rafael Dudamel, Faria allowed one goal and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. On Saturday, he made his official debut for the national team after Venezuela defeated Panama, but he didn't allow goals and became the youngest player in the national team's history to keep a clean record. He was on the final list for the Copa América Centenario.

On March 23, 2017, he played his first official match for the senior team in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Peru, becoming the youngest goalkeeper to play for Venezuela in a World Cup qualifier. Farez's stellar showing brought the game to a 2–2 draw. After the match, coach and former national team goalie Rafael Dudamel said Venezuela has a goalkeeper for the next 20 years,' with the press announcing that Farez shined. Despite allowing three goals, he saved the team and stopped a penalty kick from Alexis, making him the youngest goalkeeper to do so for the national team.

In a 0–0 draw against Colombia on August 31, 2017, after the international break, he kept a clean sheet. Venezuela defeated Argentina 1-1 on September 6, 1999, and he put in a good showing as Venezuela drew 1-1 with Argentina. In early October, he would continue to keep 2 more clean sheets in his 0–0 draw with Uruguay and a 1–0 victory over Paraguay, the latter of which was his first competitive international triumph. Despite this, Venezuela did not qualify for the World Cup.

He will continue to play three international friendly matches in 2018. The first of which will be a last-gasp loss to Colombia 2–1 at Hard Rock Stadium, located in Miami Gardens, just north of Miami. They defeated the United Arab Emirates 2–0 and drew against Iran 1–1. Venezuela played their first matches of 2019. The first one was against Argentina. Venezuela defeated Argentina 3–1, on Lionel Messi's first match back from his second international retirement, Fariez put in a good showing. The second game was unofficial, as Venezuela defeated Catalonia's national team. Only four nations in the world recognize Catalonia, one of which is Venezuela, which resulted in Venezuela's participation in the match. During that match, Venezuela defeated Catalonia 2–1.

Farez, the starting goalkeeper for the 2019 Copa América, was named in the lineup. In 0–0 draws against Peru and Brazil, he kept two clean sheets. The team lost in their third group match match against Bolivia, losing a 1–3 victory. Venezuela finished second in the group behind Brazil and Argentina at the quarter-finals, but they were disqualified 0–2 after being kicked out of the tournament.
