Ty Taylor (born January 5, 1969 in Montclair, New Jersey) is an American singer best known for his role as the lead singer of Los Angeles's based Soul/Rock band Vintage Trouble.

Lester Grimes, the voice of character on the HBO series Vinyl created by Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger, is the voice of character Lester Grimes.

Both Taylor and Cha Twist & The World Is Yours appear on VINYL: MUSIC FROM THE HBO® ORIGINAL SERIES. VOLUME 1, a compilation released by Atlantic Records on February 12, 2016.

He was previously the guitarist and vocalist of R&B's Dakota Moon, as well as a contestant on the reality TV show Rock Star: INXS.

Music career

Taylor had sung in a Baptist Church choir in his youth, and gospel music had a major influence on him. Otis Redding, Tina Turner, and The Clash are among other musical influences.

Dave Navarro asked him to sing guest lead vocals for his band Camp Freddy after leaving Rockstar: INXS. In 2008, he formed Ghost Hounds and recorded his debut album, two songs from which were released as free content for the video game Rock Band 2.

Tina Turner, Eric Clapton, Macy Gray, Fiona Apple, and Robert Taylor have all performed together.

In 1996, Taylor appeared on the cast recording of Jason Robert Brown's Songs for a New World.

Taylor appeared on the album "Bring on the Music," a compilation album released by Govt Mule. Steve Winwood, Elvis Costello, and Dr. John were among the other guests.

Taylor has been the front man for Los Angeles' soul rock band Vintage Trouble for the past few years. Popular performances include a support show at The Americana Hotel Brand, where Vintage Trouble opened for Paula Cole and Tyler Hilton, a headlining appearance on the second stage of the California AIDS Walk, as well as their weekly Tuesday night residency at Harvelle's Blues Club in Santa Monica, California, where the pair also appeared on Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" on the main stage.

On the 2015 Rock or Bust World Tour, Vintage Trouble has supported rock stars Lenny Kravitz, Joss Stone, Paloma Faith, the Dixie Chicks, The Who, Bon Jovi, and AC/DC.
