Cole appeared in Wasted!, a modern interpretation of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, directed by Intermission Theatre, a corporation that helps teenagers avoid crime. Cole appeared in the third series of BBC teen drama The Cut in which he played Noah Achebe. He appeared in two short films, Me and My Father and Jasmine, in 2011.

Cole obtained Sol Levi's role in EastEnders: E20, a spin-off of the British soap opera EastEnders, later this year. Cole was required to learn how to dance and perform his routine in front of professional dance group Flawless in the series finale. According to a narrator, the experience was "very, very difficult." Cole said it was an honor to work on the E20 and that the cast was superb. Cole would reprise his role in the third season. He was then cast as Neil Cooper in soap opera Hollyoaks. Neil was one of six new characters on the show, beginning with 2011 until the characters' death in a bus explosion in 2012. As part of the serial's marketing push for the new characters, he also shot a television commercial.
