Tony Moran Career

Career

Before he was cast in Michael Myers' role in Halloween, Tony Moran was a struggling actor. At the time, he was working on Hollywood and Vine dressed up as Frankenstein. Moran employed Erin Cunningham, who appeared on Happy Days as his sister Joanie Cunningham. When Moran auditioned for Michael Myers in 1978, he consulted with director John Carpenter and producer Irwin Yablans. He has since stated that he did not want to do the film but that he regretted it after being told that Donald Pleasence would be in it. He called back and was told he had won the job.

Moran was paid $250 for his appearance in Halloween but did not return for any of the sequels, but it was compensated for his appearance at the start of Halloween II, which was a recap of the first film.

Moran ceased acting at the age of 30 and then worked as a mortgage broker.

Moran appeared at two Halloween conventions in Salem at Count Orlok's Nightmare Gallery on Derby Street.

Moran's only film in 30 years was Halloween. He has appeared in many television shows including CHiPs, The Waltons, James at 15, and California Fever in the late seventies and early eighties.

Moran returned to acting in the short film The Lucky Break in 2008. He produced and starred in Beg, which also stars P.J. Soles. He appeared in Dead Bounty in 2014. He appeared in his biopic, the documentary film Horror Icon, which premiered in October 2015.

Moran reprised Michael Myers' role in Halloween: The Night Evil Died, becoming only the fourth actor to portray Michael Myers more than once.
