Stacey Farber Career

Career

Farber plays a young girl with depression and cutting as well as dealing with an alcoholic mother in her role on Degrassi: The Next Generation. Stacey came off as a recurring character in the show's second season, but she was eventually promoted to a regular role in the third season and continued until the end of season seven. Stacey's work on Degrassi was nominated for Canada's highest acting award, a Gemini Award, in the category 'Best Achievement in a Youth Program or Series'.

Farber appeared in the 2001 Canadian short film Bagatelle in addition to playing Ellie in Degrassi. She appeared in Young Kathryn's 2002 crime film Narc, in which she appeared as Lacy Sanders on an episode of the television drama Doc and guest hosted the 2004-05 season finale of The N's Best Friend's Date. In the animated science fiction film Dark Oracle, she also plays Mary. She appeared in Instant Star as well, and in 2006 she appeared in Stacey's NYC 101. Farber has appeared in several stage productions, including Love, Loss, and What I Wore, in addition to her screen appearances.

Farber was also one of the last three actresses to audition for the role in Juno as a self-titled actor. Daniel Clark, who appeared on screen love interest for two seasons of Degrassi, auditioned for the role of Bleeker, Juno's love interest.

Farber appeared in 18 to Life with Michael Seater from 2010 to 2011. Seater married a literal girl-next-door Farber at the age of 18, according to both parents' wishes. The pilot was actually shot in 2008 in Montreal, with the further 11 episodes filmed in summer 2010. Raju Mudhar, a critic, wrote in the Toronto Star that the series had a "almost Juno-like quality." Although disliking the series, he suggested that the leads have "some chemistry, and that both are enthralling, young actors to watch." Both were described as "getting along well" in real life, having only attended Degrassi Goes Hollywood. Angela Asher, who appeared with Farber before that in Made, played the Farber's mother on the film. The Movie. The series was nominated for a Gemini Award for outstanding ensemble work.

Farber was cast in Leslie Larr's recurring role as a "hardened, world-worn dream killer" on the CW television series Superman & Lois in October 2020. Tara Anderson was a recurring character in the third season Netflix drama series Virgin River in December.
