Shraddha Kapoor (born 3 March 1987) is an Indian actress and singer who appears in Hindi films.
She began her acting career with a brief appearance in the 2010 heist film Teen Patti, then followed it with her first leading role in the teen drama Luv Ka The End (2011). Kapoor earned a nomination for Best Actress in the commercially lucrative romantic drama Aashiqui 2 (2013), for which she received a nomination for Best Actress.

Early life and background
Kapoor was born and raised in Mumbai. Kapoor is of Punjabi descent on her father's side, and on her mother's side, she is of Marathi and Konkani descent. Pandharinath Kolhapure, her maternal grandfather (the nephew of Deenanath Mangeshkar) was born in Kolhapur, and her maternal grandmother hailed from Panaji, Goa. Kapoor revealed that she was raised as a Marathi as her maternal relatives lived in Maharashtra in an interview with The Hindustan Times. Kapoor had been nominated for the Best Female Debut Award by the Filmfare Institute, but it didn't do well at the box office. She joined Yash Raj Films on a three-film contract and appeared in their 2011 teen comedy Luv Ka The End, starring Taaha Shah. After he cheats on her, Kapoor played the lead role in a teen girl who plans to sue her boyfriend. Critics mixed on the film's demise at the box office, but it did get mixed feedback from critics.
