Shane Lynch Life

Shane Eamon Mark Stephen Lynch (born 3 July 1976) is an Irish singer-songwriter and professional drift driver, best known as a member of Boyzone.

In recent years he has taken up auto racing, participated in reality shows such as Celebrity Big Brother in 2018 and appeared as a judge on The All Ireland Talent Show.

Early life

Born to Brendan and Noeleen Lynch, a mechanic and housewife, and raised in Donaghmede, North-east Dublin, Lynch struggled with his education during his school years due to dyslexia, but excelled at sports and was a motor racing enthusiast, winning the Portuguese BMX Championship at fourteen. It was around this period he was expelled from school and began to work with his father as a mechanic.

Personal life

Lynch's sisters, twins Keavy and Edele Lynch, found fame as members of the girl group B*Witched, which became the first group to replace members of their own family at number one in the charts. Younger sister, Naomi, was part of the duo Buffalo G who achieved a top 20 hit, and another sibling, Tara, was a member of FAB!

On 8 March 1998, Lynch married Easther Bennett, lead singer of Eternal, but they divorced in July 2000. In 2002, Lynch was in a relationship with socialite, aristocrat and "It girl" Lady Victoria Hervey. Lynch and singer Sheena White were married in Ireland on 22 August 2007, and on 25 October 2008, White gave birth to their daughter Billie Rae. Shane and Sheena celebrated the birth of their second child in September 2012, another daughter whom they named Marley Mae.

Lynch, who had been involved with clairvoyants and ouija boards and claimed to have been frequently visited by evil spirits who tortured his mind in his teenage years, became a Christian in 2003; he was persuaded to convert by close friend Ben Ofoedu, who was his colleague in the band REDhill which Lynch joined after Boyzone.

Shane Lynch Career

Career

Louis Walsh, the music manager who had ruled Johnny Logan, held auditions in Dublin to find a new boyband to rival British group Take That. Lynch was one of the hopefuls on the show, and was ultimately chosen. He and five other promising auditionees made their first appearance on RTÉ's The Late Late Show with Gay Byrne before even recording any details. Despite being mocked by the Irish media, the band became one of Ireland's most popular pop bands.

Lynch quickly established himself as the group's bad boy, tattoos, and violent outbursts, which clashed with the band's clean-cut image. "But] we are not breaking up," he screamed at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 1999 with his bandmates, breaking protocol with his FUBU track lawsuit, while his bandmates wore co-ordinated suits, revealing to the shocked audience, "There has been a lot of fucking shite about Boyzone in the year 2000." He was involved in a physical brawl with American rapper Puff Daddy later that night. Lynch yelled: "You can kiss me fucking arse!" he exclaimed at a live concert for Childline two years later.

Boyzone reunited, completed a 29-date reunion tour, and dropped Love You Again on September 29, 2008, the band's second hit song since being released on September 29th, 2008. No Matter What happened on October 13, 2008.

Lynch played Eli Knox, the chairman of Harchester United in the Sky One football drama, Dream Team, during his absence from Boyzone in 2004. He has performed in pantomime and appeared in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Wycombe Swan in High Wycombe during the 2004 Christmas season. He appeared in Cinderella at the Tameside Hippodrome in 2006 as Prince Charming, alongside Sue Jenkins as the nefarious stepmother Baroness. In 2012, he appeared at The Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks, and in 2015, he appeared as Captain Hook in Peter Pan. In the Blue Genie production of Aladdin at The Whitley Bay Playhouse in 2016, he appeared as Abanazer.

Lynch, a passionate motor racing enthusiast, competed for Marcos, TVR, and then Mosler from 2002 to 2006 in the British GT Championship, coming within a few laps of winning the 2003 British GT Championship at Brands Hatch, where he crashed into a spinning backmarker he was lapping. He was in 2005 and competed in the British GT Championship Silverstone round with the 'Christians in Motorsports' team. Lynch spoke to a crowd of race supporters at the team's marquee about how his faith aids him in racing and life in general.

Lynch is now involved in drifting, competing in the British Drift Championship for performance parts manufacturer and race team Team Japspeed. Although he was not injured in the European Drift Championship round at Silverstone in 2008, he was involved in a crash with colleague Danny Eyles, and both Nissan Skyline cars were written off.

Lynch and Team Japspeed debuted a brand new VH45 V8-powered Nissan 370Z on their first visit to Lydden Hill in the 2016 season of the British Drift Championship, earning a second-place finish.

Lynch has appeared in several reality television series. He was in the second season of Channel 4's Reality TV show The Games 2004, winning a gold medal. Lynch appeared in the second season of ITV's Love Island, but he departed after the fifth week. He appeared in the second series of Sky One's Cirque De Celebrite in 2007. Shane finished third in third place in January 2018 after being a housemate in series 21 of Celebrity Big Brother.

Lynch co-founded in 2000 with bandmate Keith Duffy and launched a limited version of Milli Vanilli's "You Know It's True" as Keith 'N' Shane. They rewrote the verses in which the original was critical of today's music, but the chorus was kept the same. It was a top 40 hit in the United Kingdom, peaking at No. 1 on the charts. In December 2000, there were 36 people in the country.

Lynch formed REDhill, a rap rock band formed in 2001 with Phats & Small's drummer Ben Ofoedu.

Lynch's song "Don't Go" was originally a 1988 hit for the band Hothouse Flowers and became a "Don't Go" in early 2005. He was named one of the judges on RTÉ's The All Ireland Talent Show, a reality competition based on Britain's Got Talent. He revealed his decision to resign in 2010.

Lynch's autobiography The Chancer, which focuses on his youth, pop reign, his marriage to Easther Bennett, and recently discovered Christianity, was published in 2008. Lynch became involved in the introduction of "Ver2Vodka," a new energy vodka.

Lynch, Ben Ofoedu, Kiz (KizMusic), and Paddy founded Cruise Control, a new music project at the end of 2012. "Raindrops," the band's first song, took over YouTube for more than 50,000 views in two weeks before YouTube took it offline. Cruise Control then revealed on Christmas Eve of 2012 that their first song, "Raindrops," would be available for free download. Cruise Control said they had big plans for 2013 and had an album awaiting their debut.

Lynch anchored an educational channel 5 show in the United Kingdom in January 2013. During this period, he undertook his own dyslexia assessment. He had been shown to have the learning disorder.

Lynch appeared on a celebrity special edition of The Jeremy Kyle Show to talk about his life after being in Boyzone for seven years.

He appeared in Celebrity Masterchef for the fifth time in August 2013.

Lynch formed the Elk & Clipper barbershop chain in April 2014, establishing a business relationship with Northern Ireland businessmen Dwaine Smyth and Michael Dowall. There are currently three outlets in Northern Ireland with more expansion plans planned.

Lynch joined former REDHILL and Cruise Control bandmate Ben Ofoedu for a new supergroup named Boyz on Block in 2019, with former Fifth member Abz Love and former Another Level member Dane Bowers. On November 20, 2020, the group's debut single, a cover of East 17's "Stay Another Day," features former East 17 member and songwriter Tony Mortimer. Their second single was a recreation of K-Ci & JoJo's "All My Life," which was released on February 2021. In 2021, they had an album that was not to be released.
