On August 2 2022, Molly Mycroft, 21, was driving her Seat Ibiza when she ploughed into a BMW on Wheatley Hall Road in Doncaster. Sarah Oliver, 20, was killed in the crash, and two others were critically injured. Mycroft pleaded guilty to causing death by distracted driving and seriously injuring the two passengers. At Sheffield Crown Court today, she was sentenced to nine years in a 40-mile zone and barred from driving for 16 years. Mycroft had been driving at 78 mph in a 40-mph zone and ignored the traffic light, which had been on red for six seconds.
