Sangita Patel Career

Life and career

Patel earned her degree in electrical engineering at the University of Oxford in 2002. After being an engineer for a few years and receiving her P. Eng designation, her career path took a radical turn. Volunteering with various media outlets culminated in a job as a weather presenter on The Weather Network.

After accepting a job as the weekend weather anchor on CP24, her transition stalled. She branched out into entertainment and lifestyle when she began composing segments for her very own segment on CityNews called In the City, and then became a regular fill-in on Breakfast Television for both the Weather and Live Eye segments.

During Cheryl Hickey's maternity leave, she appeared on Entertainment Tonight Canada as a co-host.

In 2015, she appeared on ET Canada's beauty campaign with Shoppers Drug Mart. She appeared on the Food Network in December 2015 as part of the President's Choice Insiders Collection's holiday season campaign. She was also included in L'Oréal's launch of their Extraordinary Oils hair collection on their digital store. She and her husband and two children, Ava and Shyla, live in Toronto.

How Dr. TikTok can cause significant health issues

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 5, 2022
Young people are advised against copying health information from influencers on TikTok, which may cause liver disease, cancer, or even 'wind and diarrhoea'. One popular video shows chicken breasts being cooked in cough syrup, while others advise people to stick garlic up their nose, center, wash out their earwax with hydrogen peroxide, right, or produce a 'designer tan.'
